Dr. Trey Van Maanen, MD

I am a nurse with 40 plus years of practice. I accompied my husband to his first and later visits with Dr. Van Maanen. He truly listens, discusses options for treatment, has a good knowledge base, and has common sense (which is an important aspect in caring for patients). He is now my physician. I recommend him highly.

Dr Trey spent a lot of time and LISTENED TO ME. I am new to Denver & have high expectations as a nurse of 30 years. We worked together on my history, symptoms, referrals, tests, & plan. He was a very compassionate, competent, & professional provider. I feel like I have someone who really cares and is prompt responding to emails & follow up questions. I would highly recommend. I switched my spouses care to him as well.

I was born with severe allergies year-round to grass, trees, weeds, pollen, grass, molds, etc. I tried desperately to explain to this physician the importance to have an antibiotic available on hold at the pharmacy, as I'm very prone to sinus infections due to my immune suppressed body. This physician refused to allow me to have an antibiotic on hold at the pharmacy, because he believes that most people will clear a virus or infection on their own without any medications in a week to ten days on their own. This is simply incorrect information to tell any patient, especially anybody who has any immune suppressed issues with their body such as diabetes, heart disease, kidney failure, cancer, allergies. When physicians refuse to listen to a patient like this physician demonstrated to me, it just tells me that they're not interested in caring for patients, they're only interested in being in the medical field for one reason and that is to make huge profits at a patient's expense.
