Not a good experience
My 3 month old underwent laparoscopic inguinal hernia surgery. Experience overall was unpleasant. I chose him based on reviews and choc website. Before the surgery, it took a month for it to get scheduled. Our insurance is ppo and they were just waiting for the request from the office. I called every week and each time they did not know who we were. After the surgery, it was hard too. We were supposed to schedule an appointment 2-3 weeks out so we did and asked for fmla paperwork to get filled out. He said he will only do it for 2-3 days post surgery. We asked if at least it could be until our follow up with him however he said no. We do not have family around to help therefore our 3 month old would have to go back to daycare 3 days post surgery and he was ok with it. It would have been nice if he at least fit us in within 2-3 days to clear us to feel ok for our son to go back to daycare. Overall anxiety of our 3 month undergoing surgery was high. They did not help with the situation.

Dr Reyna was my sons Dr when he was about 12, my son is now 31. It was also in Las Vegas. He was one of the best if not the BEST dr’s I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. My son had the pectus excavatum surgery and he was so caring toward my son and my husband and I. My son at first didn’t want the surgery but needed it because it was beginning to cause problems. Dr. Reyna wouldn’t do the surgery until my son wanted it, he said it was very important for my son to go into surgery with a good mind frame since this was major surgery. About 24 hours the surgery during one of his visits, I told him I wasn’t able to wake him up, he immediately looked at his pain meds pump and saw that they were overdosing my son and turned it down. I wish I could find another Dr like him around. He is definitely a gem of a Dr.

Dr. Renya is an amazing, caring, and compassionate Dr. My son had the pectus procedure and was out of the hospital less than 36 hours after surgery. Even after we got home,my 13 year old was in no pain at all, just minor discomfort. The anesthesiologist team they work with does a great job with managing pain management during surgery. I also recommend the mentor program that was just started called PS, You're Not Alone. My son and I were able to meet with another mom/patient that had the procedure to answer any questions we had; it was a great experience and highly recommended.

My daughter was treated by Dr. Reyna 3 years ago. She was undergoing her first surgery (Supprelin implant). I was so scared and my then 8 year old daughter was scared too. At our consultation appointment with Dr. Reyna, he was calm, kind, and genuine. He showed my daughter what the implant would look like and was very reassuring. The surgery was a success and the recovery was super quick. Our insurance changed our doctor for her 2nd surgery, but we came back for the 3rd surgery to Dr. Reyna!

Dr. Reyna recently performed an emergency surgery on my 2 year old and he was amazing. When we were in the ER and found out that we needed surgery Dr. Reyna explained exactly what he was going to do clearly to us and provided comfort and a sense of peace that everything would be ok. After the surgery his availability and bedside manor towards children and parents sets him apart. I feel as if he treated us like family. He genuinely cared about my son and our family.

Our 11 year old daughter, Ava, needed to have an emergency appendectomy. We met Dr. Reyna who immediately put us, and Ava, at ease. He thoroughly explained the details of the surgical procedure and what to expect post surgery. We all felt total confidence in him. Dr. Reyna is a fantastic surgeon and has a wonderful bedside manner.

Dr. Reyna performed an emergency ileostomy on our premature baby boy. He thoroughly explained the condition as well as the surgery that he performed. He even drew diagrams to ensure that my family and I completely understood the surgery process. Before our baby was discharged from the NICU, Dr. Reyna performed the reanastomosis. Again, we felt safe having our baby in his care. We highly recommend this surgeon!

We had an excellent experience the Dr. Reyna and Children's Hospital O.C. We were referred to Dr. Reyna to treat a congenital condition for our 14 year old daughter. Dr. Reyna was very thorough in reviewing our daughter's heath history and all the treatment alternatives for her condition with us and made sure our daughter thoroughly understood the procedure we were planning. He has a very kind and comforting demeanor, excellent communication with parents and children and we highly recommend him.

When my baby was born he needed surgery right away. He was transferred to CHOC. Where we met met with Dr. Reyna who explained the condition of my baby and gave us peace and that he will be on his hands. Since then he has showed care for my son. He is now 1 year old and I still get follow up calls (from him not a nurse) on how he is doing. He loves what he does. He has passion for helping babies and kids and work with the parents as a team. I trust my baby boy to him all the time. We drove to OC
