Dr. Uday Mukherjee, MD

I've been seeing Dr. Mukherjee for five years and he always seems to KNOW me, my patterns and how to avoid exacerbations of my condition.Dr. Mukherjee respects my autonomy and is willing to openly discuss various options based on past experiences in the life of my mental illness. My proposals are always listened to and discussed. As an aside, I want to switch to Kaiser due to difficulty w my health plan, but will not do so if I can't pay for Dr. Mukherjee either privately or have him as a Kaiser contractor. The practice staff are excellent, they always answer the phones, and are respectful and productive! The CPS Walnut Creek office is professional every time. Dr. Mukherjee is as ingrained in my recovery as was the wonderful Psychiatrist I had for 18 years before him, and I feel very fortunate to have the stability he provides through his entire practice.

I am diagnosed with GAD, PTSD, and ADHD and have been in psychiatric care for ten years. I have never experienced such unprofessional, unethical behavior from any doctor I have seen. I was not able to talk and treated like I was an inconvenience to be there. After keeping me there an hour I told him that I was going to miss my daughter’s vball game, I had to walk out on him while he shamed me and made me feel like a drug addict. I have been on the same medical regiment for three years before I moved to a new area and needed I to find a provider. He didn’t approve of my regiment and asked me a lot of the same questions to get the right answer out of me. When he didn’t hear what he wanted, he told me I couldn’t be his patient. He said he was going to give me my prescriptions and then said at least three times “Don’t you come asking me for more.” I asked do I need a follow up and he said no he wouldn’t help me and shamed me all the way out. I had a panic attack on my drive home.
