Dr. Patel is a GREAT Neurosurgeon!
Dr. Patel is fabulous! Patient communication was great and he seems to really care. He also is very good at what he does. If you need to see a Neurosurgeon and you are in or around Southwest Virginia, I highly recommend Dr. Patel at Carilion. He also travels to the Hillsville, VA office once a month and the Wytheville, VA office twice a month which makes travel more convenient if you are closer to those areas versus going to Roanoke, VA.

Dr Patel was very informative of my problem and what he could do to possibly fix it. He took his time with me and answered all my questions. He showed me all the X-rays, I got to see the problem before and after surgery. He explained everything to me. The day of surgery he met with me along with an intern who would be assisting him. He made me feel very comfortable about what was going to happen. I was really impressed with his bedside manners and the great care he took of me. He did exactly what he said he would do and I am very pleased with the outcome. I was back to work with no pain in just three months. I would highly recommend Dr Patel for any neurological procedure.

Dr. Patel helped me to get relief from a back problem I have been suffering with for years. I went to Dr.Patel for a second opinion and he quickly earned my confidence and trust by taking the time to explain things to me in a manner that I could understand. He reviewed my MRI with me so I could clearly see what was wrong. He thoroughly explained the approach he would take and I ended up having him do my procedure. He has a great bedside manner and it’s clear that he really cares about his patients.

Dr. Patel is very attentive and thorough. He is very easy to work with and easy to talk to. He answered all my questions and more. He brought up my MRI and X-Rays on his computer and explained my images to me in depth. My surgery from start to finish went very well. I will return to Dr. Patel for future issues if needed.
