Paid this doctor cash for her service (for some reason with colonoscopies they encourage you to pay cash or risk receiving an exorbitant bill not covered by insurance). She took my check and said she would submit to my ins and if they paid her I would receive a refund for my cash payment. The company she uses for her billing is Anesthesia Business Consultants. Well, good luck trying to get a refund from these people. I started by sending a letter to the billing company address. Then followed up with c/s, then sent two emails with supporting documentation, then four more phone calls and still no refund. They repeatedly told me that my supporting docs were received and a refund would be forthcoming. Still no refund. Then I filed a claim w/ BBB and the company responded to them with the same answer. I finally received a refund 14 mos after the duplicate payment was made. Wonder how much extra money this doctor has made over the years because people just give up. Never again!
