If you are seeing this doctor, it’s because you were deemed high risk for your pregnancy. Already, this means the patient may be facing more stress, uncertainty, anxiety, etc. Dr. Simon only added to my stress and anxiety. She is extremely over the top, mentioned the word “stillborn” 9 times within 30 minutes (even though my scans are all normal). She also doesn’t demonstrate any sort of positivity, reassurance, or optimism around pregnancy. It is as if her role is to instill doubt and fear in her already vulnerable patients. I was very annoyed and frustrated with each visit. She also will get very upset if you don’t hand over all of your care to her — something I was not willing to do, as I am very happy with my OB. Imagine leaving your appointment in tears even though all of your scans and labs look great…

My OB referred me for a level 2 ultrasound at 20 weeks. After reviewing my chart, Dr. Simon had me make an ASAP appointment but her wait was 2 weeks out leaving me to worry about what she saw in my chart that could be wrong. I stressed for 2 weeks then during my appointment she went through every one of my medications to tell me why I’m hurting the baby to be on them and why stopping them would hurt the baby. She did not care what I had to say. She did not listen or read the room. It felt like a lecture shaming me for being pregnant while chronically ill. I was also told my follow ups would be in Huntley just to be told that no one ever works in Huntley. They were supposed to call to schedule my follow ups and never did. Her bedside manner is lacking to say the least.

This is my second time through MFM and it was an amazing experience. She has a great bedside manor and was very caring. She took the time to have a lengthy conversation. Highly recommend!

Awful! She had to refer to her books (and told me so) and had no actual knowledge of my condition. She seemed confused and not knowledgeable whatsoever. It seriously felt like I was in the middle of a nightmare!
