excellent service
Dr. Valerie R. DykeOn August 16, 2023, I underwent minimally accessible surgery to remove a tumor I had in my colon, which surgery was performed by you with total success. From that date on, a period of recovery began that lasted 6 months and luckily for me again, I had to be treated by Dr. Magaly Van Den Bergh, a specialist in oncology, who recommended a chemotherapy treatment at Florida Cancer Specialists, which was carried out with great rigor and professionalism by the technical staff of that prestigious center. On March 15, this process ended with very satisfactory results, which is why I am writing to you, who were the initiator of this battle against the aggressive and painful illness that I suffered and that today I can happily assure that I am fully recovered thanks to everyone who participated in this effort to return me to life in optimal conditions and new dreams to be realized.

I know who not to use now if I do have a problem
I felt I was being admonished by her for being there. I thought I had a problem and was concerned and she made me feel like I was wasting her time. At the end, I took off my glasses to rub my eye and I swear she rolled her eyes thinking I was starting to cry. I wasn’t, but she didnt even stay long enough to care if I was or not.

She is the best, very smart and not in a hurry to do surgery. She explains things so they are easy to understand. I drive from Punta Gorda to see her well worth the drive.

Overall, a little disappointed. I asked to speak with her well in advance to appointment date. My husband's chart was reviewed that day as he was placed in a room. The PA explained the doctor would probably only do this difficult case as a "favor" and most likely we would be referred out to let residents play for hours taking down tedious adhesions prior to the re-anastamosis. His words not mine. It would have saved everyone a lot of time and energy had the chart simply been reviewed in advance.

How can I thank you enough? You did a resection and liver excision 17 years ago. I am still here! Ben Byrd

Very bad experiences with this doctor. I waited four hours for my 8am colonoscopy because "something went wrong" with the patient before me. In another instance, I was charged $778.78 for a simple, ten minute office exam that she reported as a surgery.
