Dr. Van Cheng, MD

I found Dr. Cheng on the internet when I was in search of a vascular surgeon who treats veins in the breasts (not all do). She was friendly and very professional. Dr. Cheng explained every step of the process and informed me of the potential results. I had 3 separate sessions, and like she had explained, the veins looked worse before they looked better and it took several months to see the final results. I'm glad I went to Dr. Cheng, I look amazing and I feel great!

I went to Dr. Cheng for a consultation about a variety of unsightly veins in both of my legs. Dr. Cheng is clearly an expert in her field and explained my options. She is the type of doctor I wish all patients would be lucky enough to meet. She truly cares about educating her patients in the procedure and process. I highly recommend Dr. Cheng for both her expertise and genuine consideration of her patients.

Not good!! She makes promises she can’t keep to get your money! I was told by her that I would need (2) visits at $500 each time to take care if my Spider Veins. These visits were extremely painful & at the end of my second visit my legs looked worst than before. She then told me that I would need Laser treatment Additional $300 to get rid of the scaring she caused & said she told me I might in the beginning which isn’t true, she guaranteed after the (2) visits my legs would look great & never mentioned Laser & when I said “ you didn’t say anything About Laser in the beginning she kept to her story which was a lie! I wanted to get rid of the scaring & paid the additional money which was again very painful & didn’t do a darn thing to improve the brown scars she left on my legs. I wish I had kept my $1,300 because she would still be trying to milk me for more money & additional treatment. Her business ethics should be made accountable for making fault claims to people who trusted

Overall I had a great experience with San Diego Vein Institute. I thought Dr. Cheng was very professional and had an extensive amount of patients. For each each of my session they would last about an hour and she would talk all thru out. It was such a pleasurable experience because I felt as if I could connect with her not as a patient doctor relationship but also as a person to person. My results after 3 sessions were amazing and even after the first session I could see already how the vein collapsed after she injected it. Highly recommend this place.

I was happy to heat that the first consultation with Dr. Cheng was free, because in other clinics and hospitals they would charge me $150 just for the consultation. That was ridiculous! However my experience with Dr. Cheng was amazing. She treated my vein and even though it slightly hurt I was able to see results immediately. Shes an amazing doctors and really cares for her patients!

I had heard of Dr. Cheng from a family friend and she highly recommended her. I was unsure but decided to make an appointment because her consultation was free, and I thought why not. All I can say is that shes an amazing, wonderful and helpful person. She was super easy to talk to and was willing to answer the long lists of questions I had regarding my veins. I definitely recommend her and the type of treatments shes does!

I've been seeing Dr. Cheng for a couple of years now, first for varicose veins and now for some wrinkle smoothing. I didn't want to go through a face lift but did was to smooth out my forehead. I'm 4 treatments in an seeing great results. Way more natural than "facelift face" that I see all too often.

I was referred by a fellow Del Mar CC golfer. He was referred to Dr. Cheng by his wife. Glad I found my way to her, my bumpy calves are now smooth. Not such a big deal in the winter but it's now spring and who doesn't want to wear shorts in San Diego?

2nd treatment! This time for the back of my legs. The first one was for some spider veins around my eyes. This time she used injections instead of a laser. Whew, felt pressure but no pain. Now that I look at legs in the mirror it's great not seeing those blue veins.

If you have a varicose veins I'd definitely recommend Dr. Cheng. I was able to get an appointment in a week and the treatment was only 30 minutes. I had some spider veins around my nose and it felt like a little rubber band snapping. A few days later, gone!

The least arrogant doctor I've ever been to for a cosmetic procedure! I had some spider veins on my nose that I just didn't like. They bothered me when I looked in the mirror. Dr. Cheng took way more time in explaining the laser procedure than actually doing it. I felt comfortable with her and was out in under an hour. Just really really really simple!

She took her time looking at my leg veins and used an ultrasound before giving me a couple of treatment options. She wasn't pushy and gave me time to think about what I wanted to do. The treatment took less than an hour and it was literally like watching the veins disappear after the injections. Overall a great experience.
