Dr. Vera Astreika, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Astreika’s for over 15 years!I have been at VERY low points when she came into my life…i can actually say that “she saved my life!”She helped me through more than one VERY low time in my life, for instanc….my Baby Grandson passed away and then both of my older Brothers passed away from the same cancer!She has ALWAYS been there, and still is…God Bless You Dr. Astriela!

I saw some of the bad reviews and it broke my heart because Vera Astreika is hands down the easiest Psychiatrist to talk to. She’s the worlds greatest listener, she’s delicate with her responses and gentle encouragement. She’s very observant, patient, and understanding. If you trust in her, she will trust in you. If you have questions or concerns about your diagnosis/medications or want to discuss trying something different? She encourages you to let her know and is always willing to find a compromise if you are willing to accept her treatment. She wants nothing more than to help you to the best of her ability. She will explain and elaborate further if you let her know that you are still concerned, feel misunderstood, or confused. She understands that you know you best and she will always consider your opinion for your treatment plan. I respect her recommendations. I trust her. I’ve been working with her for 7 years and I don’t know where I would be without her. She’s one of a kind.

She made my mind into a unified, more thoughtful, intuitive, sane, mom-schizoid person's and really helped me a lot.

An excellent, non-judgmental psychiatrist who is quiet but really cares. Willing to stay with you and really wants to make you well. More than simply a behavioralist.

Have been seeing Dr. Astreika for many years and find that she cares about my well-being. Do not feel like I am just her "next patient". Has gotten me thru some very rough times with her knowledge and compassion. She is always reliable. Would highly recommend her as a psychiatrist.

Very attentive. When I tell her I am done with what I have to say she always responds with her thoughts or asks follow up questions. We have a long history together and trust between each other. She has always managed my medications well and took action when I have had concerns.

Dr. Astreika is one of the coldest, most unkind and uncaring physicians I have ever had the misfortune of working with...her medication knowledge is limited, she is dismissive, jumps to conclusions without asking questions, does not read the file so is often operating under misconceptions, refuses to return phone calls, glares at you and is all around a cold hearted person. This is so unfortunate since the individuals seeking her care are in desperate need of encouragement and care.

Was very dismissive and short on time. Offered very little analysis or ideas.

Was not easy to talk to. She would just stare at me silently at the beginning of every appointment until I would just start speaking. She belittled a few of my conditions and was not helpful at all in terms of medication.

Dr Astreika is a caring doctor who really listens to what you and seems genuine.
