Neck pain DDD
I saw this woman twice, after waiting MONTHS to see her I was very disappointed that this lady told me to continue doing what I’ve been doing (even though it does not help) demanded I use a tens unit from the 50s and more PT after 2 years of countless PT. Went back after several more rounds of PT. I asked to see someone else. Somehow it was her again. She accused me of not doing PT until I demanded she RE-READ my chart. I had actually gone 8 times since my last visit. She said there is nothing wrong with my spine. Even after a recent MRI showing concerning areas of the cervical spine. She actually told me “I don’t think your doctors read the images.” And dismissed me saying she would refer me to pain clinic only for them to call me and say I am denied because they can’t treat my pain. This woman had all to do with the denial. I’ve put in complaint about her the first time so I believe this was revenge. She needs her license taken.

Terrible experience
Terrible experience. My appointment was all of 15 minutes. She was very dismissive and didn't offer much help at all, other than aquatic physical therapy. Her post visit notes were a joke. Dismissed my previous symptoms. I left completely defeated.

I saw Dr. Johnson about severe back pain where I couldn't stand upright for more than 30 seconds without excruciating pain. She refused to order an MRI for my back pain and insisted she didn't need an MRI because she knew how to treat me. She gave me a dosepak steroid for a week, then when that wasn't helping, she still refused to order the MRI. I finally went to the ER at Carle and they discovered I had a ruptured disc that required surgery the next day. The neurosurgeons said that only surgery could resolve my issue, and it did. Thank goodness I didn't listen to Dr. Johnson and sought treatment from different doctors. She is not qualified to treat back issues and I will never go back to see her.

Dr. Johnson was thorough and took the time to explain options for my issues. She gave me very detailed assessment of MRI images and allowed me to participate in the direction of treatment.

She is no more than an administrator - various referrals. Her office won't do any sort of pain management. PT referred me back to her (after I had a spinal injection, which didn't help, and PT, which didn't do anything). She suggested more PT, which hasn't helped at all. She knows I'm not just seeking drugs, as I told her that I had been prescribed NORCO, which I stopped taking as it didn't alleviate any pain. I simply wanted a referral for actual neurosurgery, which I had to demand to get.

She assumed I came to see her to get on permanent disability. She said there was nothing she could do for me. And she shared with the pain center this same information, so that doctor refused to treat me. I was looking for PAIN RELIEF, not disability. So I went to the Millenium Pain Center in Decatur IL. The doctor was very helpful. They injected my L5-S1 joint, both SI joints, and both bursa. My pain is 90% gone and I can live my life again, no thanks to Dr Johnson.

If you are in severe spinal pain do not see this physician. She should be retired. Save yourself the time and money and see someone else. She is of no help at all and has difficulty communicating her thoughts.

She's a very nice person, but apparently everyone with back pain is seen as a drug seeker and you are never offered any type of relief through months of appointments and procedures. I resent the implications when I have a well documented background of issues. Pain management should be part of the protocol in this office. I don't care if I get narcotics or not, but something besides Tylenol might help.
