Dr. Vidhyalakshimi Jalshankar, MD

I have 2 children that have seen "Dr. J", one under 18 and one over 18. She is a very poor doctor, to the point of almost negligent. She asks the patient if they want the medication dose increased or wants a new medication. When my child said they didn't know, she then asked me! We saw her for years and the care has gotten worse. We leave the appointment feeling uncertain about the treatment b/c she is wishy-washy. This has happened repeatedly. She told my child with depression (has been hospitalized for it) to "try harder". I don't typically write reviews but she is almost dangerous in her lack of empathy, listening skills, and decision making.

Awful! Did not take concerns seriously and showed a lack of patient care. She was always late and held her appointments no more than 5 minutes. She also roasted me with my issues of anxiety and depression. Find a different doctor!

My 8 year old has been seeing Dr. J for ADHD and anxiety for the past 6 months. She is very patient and great with children. She is an excellent listener has paid very good attention to his symptoms allowing her to diagnose my child for other hidden conditions that we were unaware of; other providers failed to notice. I highly recommend! Wish she had a private office somewhere else though as she currently works in a Mental Health Hospital which may be a little uncomfortable for kids.
