Excellence in rheumatological care
I had been experiencing debilitating symptoms for over 8 years by the time I was first seen by Dr. Kumar. My prior rheumatologist was condescending & never did anything to help me, so I didn't have high hopes or expectations when I went to Dr. Kumar. My outlook changed after my first visit with her. She took her time, was curious & knowledgeable, & she was validating of my symptoms. She started treatment immediately, & within a few months, I was feeling like my old self, which I didn't know was possible. Dr. Kumar has given me my life back, & I feel safe in her hands. Absolutely top notch!

Perfece Doctor who save my life
Perfect doctor. Dr Kumar and Dr Preston Matthews saved my life several years ago when I contracted Wagners' Granumatosis. I was recommended to see her by Dr Preston Matthews, on my very first visit. Other doctors had miss-diagnosed my condition. She correctly diagnosed the disease on my first visit, and began immediately treating me with the proper medication. My condition began improving immediately. My treatment continued for a number of years. My condition steadily improved. After three years of treatment I was totally recovered. For more than 10 years now, I have I have remained totally recovered. Both Dr Kumar and Dr Preston Matthews are truely great doctors. They worked together to save my life.

Best Doctor of those born of a woman ...
World Class Doc - VIjayalakshmi listens, understands, she has consumate knowledge, has the patience of a saint, makes the patient feel as though there is no other PT anywhere. She doesn't care about the constraints of time, she is firm with her doctrine, but gentle of touch. This lady has class as a Doc. If she says it, you can take it to the bank. Practical, concerned, Optum would do well to keep her, there is no finer Doc of those born of a woman. THE BEST. I have been of ill health since I was a teenager, so when I say that she is the greatest in 50 years experience, it is no jest or exaggeration.

5 stars for Dr Kumar. Her thoroughness, attention to detail, and caring is perhaps the best I've experienced, and I'm well into my 60's. She's an asset to our community, and I highly recommend her.

Rushed through the visit, spoke too fast, explaining things I already know about my disease. She didn’t leave time for me to ask questions until the end, and still seemed in a rush. Her faced and manner changed to very cold and hard after one question, and she wrote something very inappropriate in her notes. Strange. She is not compassionate, condescending and I would say avoid this doctor. I would give her 0 stars if it was available. She did not want to make a care plan with me, had no interest in an ongoing plan to manage my disease.

Very unhappy patient – Jan 09, 2020

Dr. Kumar is simply the best. She LISTENS, palpates, reads my history/lab/imaging data, then provides help, guidance, and concern. Then, when most M.D.'s would be but a memory, having already left a few minutes ago - Dr. Kumar listens to my concerns and gives proper and singular care. Her kind of practice - it is reminiscent of the care given pre-HMO's.

I love Dr. Kumar. Every time I see her she remembers who I am and takes the time to answer all my questions, I never feel like I'm being rushed out of the office. Dr. Kumar seams to care about Rheumatoid Disease as opposed to other Rheumatologist's I've seen who seam to be in the specialty for other reasons. I would go to any location to keep her as my Rheumy.

Dr. Kumar is truly wonderful. In a specialty were we patients are often vulnerable and fearful of our futures because of our disease, and often in chronic pain or stages of miserable disability, Dr. Kumar is genuinely warm and caring and works effectively to help you maintain a normal life which you might not have had otherwise without her. She treats you like an individual she knows and values, and addresses your entire health picture. There is no better doctor. To know her is to love her.
