Dr. Vikram Udani, MD

First, I should not be here right now, and I believe Dr. Udani is one of the reasons why I am! I am a metastatic triple positive (Her2 plus aggressive) breast cancer patient and asked for a Brain MRI in January 2024, knowing that is the next likely-landing place for disease. Unfortunately, the result of the Brain MRI showed a large tumor (approx. golf ball size) in the left parietal region, despite being asymptomatic. I had my first consult with Dr. Udani, where he explained the MRI results calmly, with clear detail, the necessity for brain surgery-craniotomy , estimated time for in-patient recovery (3 days – say what?!?), any potential aftermath side effects, and his strong belief that this will be successful and grant me at least several months of survival. Dr. Udani was 100% correct with all predictions. ONE YEAR follow-up with Dr. Udani and words can not describe how truly thankful and blessed I am to have been treated by this specialist. I am still here!! :-)

Dr. Udani performed an L4-5 fusion and laminectomy to relieve my severe sciatica. The sciatica pain was gone immediately after surgery. My recovery has been painless and ahead of schedule. Dr. Udani made me feel knowledgeable and comfortable with the entire procedure. His office staff is great, too.

Dr. Udani is an amazing neurosurgeon with an excellent bedside manner. He literally saved my life after presenting at the ER with a frontal lobe brain tumor and edema covering a portion of my brain. I'm grateful to be alive and will always appreciate Dr. Udani's knowledge and skilled hands.

In a time of extreme fear Dr. Udani provided lots of reassurance through every step of the process from finding the tumor through the craniotomy. He does brilliant work!

Everything about Dr. Udani is Awesome! The way he explains everything he puts you at ease.You know he cares about his patients. I had surgery on my neck in 2014.Which the thought is scary. But i knew with Dr. Udani I was going to be ok. Thats why when I started having problems that could be spine related i had to go back to him. It is now 2022 and I live in another state. But i still went to him and he is still the best. Thank you for being there when we need you Dr. Udani.

After a year of chronic neck pain and months of numbness in my arms and legs, I was admitted to Scripps La Jolla where an MRI showed a tumor on my spine. I met Dr. Udani the next day. He explained why surgery was necessary to remove it. He had schedule it for the next day. I am so grateful to him. The numbness is gone, I can walk again ~ the surgery was a success. Excellent follow up and his office staff is just as amazing as he is!

He did my neurosurgery at Scripps hospital. Dr. Udani was very thorough and did an amazing job on the surgery. He shaved as little as possible of my hair - I have never seen such careful surgery before on any of my friends and family. I would highly recommend him!

Dr. Vikram Udani is by far one of the best neurosurgeons in San Diego California. Over a year ago I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation 1. Extreme migraines and loss of balance is just a couple of symptoms Chiari Causes. During my first appointment with doctor Udani, I was told I would need decompression surgery of the skull. At first I was terrified, I expressed my concerns to him and was extremely emotional. Dr Udani, and his staff, Ashley and Jessica, were able to calm me down and explain the benefits of having this particular surgery. After speaking with Dr Udani and his team I decided to go through with the surgery. I could honestly say, that was the best decision I've ever made in my life. I had my surgery on September 17 2021. Since then, I've noticed my symptoms improving within a week after having surgery. Dr Udani saved my life. He has such compassion and knowledge, he is kind hearted and extremely skilled at his profession. Dr Udani is the best.

I have called and called and the Receptionist NEVER answers. Keeps saying she is "away from her desk." Her message then says to leave a name and phone number and she'll call me back. However, it then goes into a LOOP and then it says the "Message box is full!" If he's OUT of business or if he is NOT taking NEW patients, he should tell United Health Care who recommended him. I don't care if he is the best doctor in the world.. he can't treat patients under his care like this nor can he treat new patients like this! I will never use him!

Dr. Udani is the best. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't be walking and recovering. I appreciate him very much and would recommend all who need the type of surgeries he does. He gave me my life back and I'm recovering well. Thank you so much Dr. Udani

dr udani did a surgery this year on my neck and my back. he did both surgery at same time during one operation. after one month recovery I have a no pain. he did a miracle for me

I had neck surgery last year by another surgeon that totally messed me up. I was in constant pain running down both of my arms. I saw Dr. Udani as my last hope after nothing was helping. He took me in for another surgery after clearly explaining that it may not work. Not only did it work, but I feel better than ever. I finally feel like I've recovered from this problem and am eternally grateful to Dr. Udani.
