Dr. Castellano went over the images with me. Prior to that I had not read the radiology report. He did not mention or point out anything that seemed to serious. When I came home my wife was reading the radiology report and asked me what the doctor said about the tumors, one of which was described as large in the radiology report. He did not mention them or point them out in the images. The same day I called his office and was told I would be getting a phone call from the doctor. It never happened. At my visit he recommended physical therapy at HSS. I would not go back to HSS for anything.

Have been going to Dr. Castellano for nearly two years for my arthritic knees. He took the time to explain what was going to be done and the side effects that can occur. I was given a steroid shot followed by three haulauronic acid shots for me knees. It was successful and reduced pain and discomfort by 50-60%. He staff, including Michael and Julie was also excellent and very accomodating. I highly Recommend Dr. Castellano and his staff.

First the office manager Michael never calls you back. It looks like it is impossible to schedule appointment. He may be a good MD but he needs to change his office staff.

DON’T go to this doctor. He is afraid of challenge & doesn’t want to treat aged patients with spinal stenosis & degenerative discs,. Dr. Castellano is only concerned about his success record, like a schoolboy who only wants to look good with good grades that are EASY to earn. When he learned via his assistant that new patient had 1 steroid shot from another doc 6 months ago & it didn’t work, then he immediately refused to see new patient! All happened over phone. Refused to give appointment.

I have been seeing Dr. Castellano on and off since 2012. I have never had anything but a great experience with him and his staff. When my back issue began in 2012 I never had a straight answer until after I saw him. For months I had pain and no answer as to why. Thankfully for me with his care along with others at HSS I like my life with very little back pain. And in the cases where it comes back I can always go back and receive great care from him and his staff

The secretary and office manager are disrespectful and difficult. They do all what they can to make your appointments impossible (like waiting 2-3 months). Try to avoid this office and you will be a happier person.Terrible service. The doctor spends 10 minutes with the patient and there is no way to communicate with him. Really aggravating. AVOID IT.

I got his name from the Hospital for Special Surgery. I called the office to make an appointment at about 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. I spoke to a "Patrick." Patrick took down information from me about my problem and said he would call me back the next day. Patrick never called back. I tried calling again and no one answered the telephone. I found that very strange for a medical office. I never heard back from that office with an appointment.

Initial impression of the doctor was fine, but constantly felt rushed or made to feel that I might be asking too many questions. Also, would not go back to the office for his assistant alone. It doesn't matter how nice you are she is always rude whether it be in her tone or her greeting or lack thereof.
