After having a ton of tests and symptoms with my primary doctor, I was referred to Dr. Kota because I was testing positive for three separate autoimmune diseases. She came into my appointment and said, 'You don't have lupus or anything else. I could maybe diagnose you with fibromyalgia but we will have to do a lot more testing.' After I asked her about the three positive results, she let me know that she had not looked at my tests but could tell due to my weight that I did not have 'rheumatological conditions' at all. After looking at my chart for the first time she doubled down on fibromyalgia because I have a PTSD diagnosis. She told me that PTSD causes fibromyalgia and if I paid attention my flares probably aligned with dates of past trauma. I spoke with my regular Dr and therapist and they both told me that there's no scientific evidence to support that. PCP did even more tests, still coming up positive. Avoid her, she's rude and doesn't want to do her job.

Doctor was completely dismissive, condescending, and ignorant of factual evidence. Multiple blood tests over several years (as well as PCP suggestions) point to me having an auto-immune disease. She completely ignored all of these results, waving them away, and attributing all of my symptoms to being overweight and past trauma. Wants to proceed with a bevy of other tests (costing myself and billing insurance thousands of dollars) in order to attempt to diagnose me with fibromyalgia, which she claims is caused by past trauma (which has not been proven). Also, at the risk of sounding xenophobic, there seems to be an issue with a language barrier. When relaying my history and symptoms, she confused and misinterpreted my descriptions multiple times, repeating them back to me in ways that were in opposition to how I had described them. Very frustrated with this doctor and her methods. Would definitely AVOID!

I left Dr. Kota’s office feeling much better informed about my illness problems. She was familiar with my case and previous test results before she came in the exam room. After asking me numerous questions, she explained why she eliminated each possible illness that might be indicated by my symptoms and previous test results. She repeated one test and did one additional test to come to her diagnosis. I found her easy to talk with and feel confident that she has directed me toward a doctor that can help me. Dr. Kota was very knowledgeable and professional.

If I could give no stars, I would. While I generally think it's irrelevant what a doctor's Google review is, I feel like I must warn people. Dr. Kota is unprofessional and rude as a person and inept as doctor. I went to her for a second opinion after feeling like I was being overtreated by my existing rheumatologist. She did not do a single lab, did not touch me, and could not do an x-ray because somehow she's an arthritis/joint doctor but doesn't have an x-ray machine!! She did not even fully review my chart, but felt it appropriate to tell me that I do not have rheumatoid arthritis or anything else wrong with me, despite the fact that my previous doctor had diagnosed me with rheumatoid arthritis and was treating me with 3 different medications for it. I asked her how she could make such a call without any tests or even touching me. She just shrugged and said it was her opinion, and I was welcome to leave. I of course did leave, in tears mind you. I was able to find another doctor to
