Dr. Vivian H Mao, MD

I provide security for persons in custody several times a week. Dr. Mao treated her patient as such and not a criminal. Dr. Mao did an excellent job explaining what was going on to her patient in a way that was easily understandable. It is a pleasant change of pace. Typical appointments for persons in custody usually don't end with solutions they are just postponed until a future date. Dr. Mao addressed the issue swiftly and did so as, I assume, she does with all of her patients kindly.

Dr. Mao did my sons surgery. She was great!

Waited a month and a half to be seen for clogged salivary gland. Primary physician had prescribed antibiotics in meantime. Condition is chronic and painful. She spent 5 minutes with me and told me to keep doing what I am doing with Absoloutely no additional remedies!! I suggested a procedure and she said oh yea. I could do that!! She seemed more like a first year student or worse. At least a student would try! Made an appointment with john Hopkins. The receptionist knew more than dr Mao

On my first visit she was very irritated and hateful. I basically had lost my voice, which I use non stop in my job. When I asked what to do about being on the phone, her reply was do the best you can. She did not give me a chance to ask any questions. She just ran ( rammed ) a scope up my nose and down into my throat ( without numbing me ) and tells me... Be quite, breath, be still. Never asked me if I had any questions or concerns, just did the exam and almost left the room in a run.
