TCAR surgery
Dr. Torres has excellent bedside manner. However, I had TCAR surgery. (a stent in my right artery in neck)I was left with my right vocal cord permanently paralyzed. I had 2 procedures done by a laryngology Dr. and would need another surgery to “maybe” fix it. No guarantee . I was not even told this could happen until after the fact. It affects my breathing considerably and my voice for the rest of my life. I worked with a vocal therapist for well over a year. I am seeing another vascular Dr. and need to be monitored every 6 months. Very depressing.

Kudos to Dr. Torres for giving me a new lease on life at 87. After scans indicated my RT carodit was severely blocked, Dr. Torres suggested performing TCAR, a new less invasive surgery that allowed me to get back to my daily activities in a few days instead of a few weeks. I feel terrific with more energy, healing amazing well. Dr. Torres is a good listener and explains things clearly. Her remarkable skill, along with her surgical team, carried me through surgery having the honor of being the first vascular patient at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center to greatly benefit from this innovative surgery. Dr. Torres’ office staff and medical team are courteous and conscientious. I highly recommend Dr. Torres with my utmost respect and gratitude.

Dr Torres promptly and thoroughly evaluated my severe Iliac and Femoral vein blood clots, and scheduled a surgery within 10 days at Doctors Hospital. The thrombectomy was completely successful and four stents were implanted. Six months later I have returned to full functioning for my age.

This 'doctor' is unfriendly, unprofessional and disinterested. She did not even examine me but just ordered a test which was actually unavailable. A total waste of time.
