Not Happy
I had a colonoscopy one week ago. I experienced heavy bleeding for 3 days and excruciating gas pain. I left Dr Wrafi several messages to no avail. He doesn’t have enough respect to return a call. I do not recommend this doctor. A one star rating is too generous.

Wonderful, Excellent Doctor
During a colonoscopy Doctor Refai discovered that I had cancer. From that point on he personally saw to it that imaging happened as quickly as possible. Then he saw to it that the surgeon contacted me quickly. A month after the colonoscopy the surgeon removed the tumor, and they caught it before it had spread. I really feel that his sense of urgency saved me a lot of grief. I am so grateful to Doctor Refai. He had done his job, and could have easily just passed me along into the system, and walked away having done his part. Instead, he put his foot an the accelerator, and kept it there until I was taken care of.

DO NOT GO TO DR REFAI. HE WILL NOT RETURN A CALL
Dr Refai performed a procedure on me and told us everything was good. His office will not upload procedure results to Henry Ford MYCHART where patients can see it so we requested a paper copy which they did supply. The written results were very different than the verbal result. Months later imaging raised questions concerning his procedure. I called his office and requested a call back from Dr. Refai. 3 weeks and 3 conversations later with his office they want to schedule a phone appointment at a unknown cost. Dr Refai has no interest in talking with a patient that he has performed a procedure on, paid in full, without an appointment up sell to answer a simple question relative to the very procedure he performed. Very unprofessional, money hungry behavior. We are forced to see another doctor to start over because he is unwilling to spend literally 30 seconds on the phone. DO NOT SEE DR REFAI.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS MAN(DOCTOR). He performed a colonoscopy on my mom back in November. She had cancer and had another more invasive colonoscopy done in March. She had bleeding and went through the ER at Henry Ford Macomb (19 Mile). He had the nerve to tell my mom she had cancer and had to get a second opinion. Her one doctor had already said she was cleared of cancer. He then wrote in her MYCHART that he had spoken to the other doctor(the one that said she was cleared of cancer)and that he claims my mom refused to get a second opinion......she did get a second opinion AND had it taken care of. I would never go to him, because I truly believe he never spoke to the other doctor!!!!! If you have a loved one who is in the hospital by themself, due to covid, please make sure they don't get him!!!!!!!!!! ONly way to get this review out was to give a star.....I did not want to give even ONE!

Terrible experience, office staff was very rude, no appointments unless its months in advance and this was pre corona, I am not for a doctor who seems to have zero interest in actually caring about a patients health and more about money.

Dr. Refai was genuinely caring. He was attentive to all my complaints when I saw him in the office and addressed them. He treated my Acid Reflux. I had an EGD done and the whole experience was good. I feel a lot better thanks to him. I would recommend him and the office to any of my family and friends.

Dr Refai was very sweet and caring. During my office visit he listened to me ramble about my symptoms and issues and never seemed to have lost interest. He was very thorough in his examination and explained everything to me so that I could understand. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Refai is an excellent physician. I recommended him to all my family and my close friends. I follow with him in his Macomb office and have a great experience all the time. His colonoscopy and EGD were painless. I am due again in 10 years and will certainly go back to him. He is highly recommended!

I had an appointment to see dr. Refai. I have waited for two long months after my first encounter with him and now I had my tests results available and all I needed is for doctor to prescribe me medication to start treatment. The doctor recommended me to call my insurance first to check if I would qualify for expensive drugs but he didn’t tell me the name of any of them. He also didn’t give me prescription. When I contacted insurance they couldn’t give me an answer since I didn’t have the name of meds that dr. Refai wants to treat me with. Isn’t this his office job to work with insurance? He didn’t prescribe me anything, he recommended to schedule an appointment in three months! What would change in three month? I cannot start treatment without prescription. I can’t even find out if specific medication will be covered or not. Terrible experience! Looks like the doctor doesn’t know what he is going. Don’t ever go there for treatment, find good doctors who care about patients.

A couple of years ago, this amazing doctor did a colonoscopy on me. I never met him before the procedure. I talked to him for a few seconds after the procedure (while me being half asleep). All I remember is that he called me some days later to refer me to see another doctor. It turned out I had tiny abnormal spot (he was able to biopsy), that was NOT benign. Long story short, I would not be here without him and I OWE HIM My LIFE! I would recommend him to all those that I love.

Poorest excuse of a physician I have ever experienced. Left the room without ever providing the procedure order I had went there for. His assistant never followed up as promised. Finally the office manager got my referral. Received his bill earlier this week, Not sure what he is billing me for, he did absolutely nothing for me,

He wasn't even in the office until 20 minutes after my appointment was scheduled according to the nurse, it took another 15 to be seen. He brought up things he saw on tests from before a previous appointment (months before) that he'd never mentioned before. He only spent maybe 5 minutes with me. I have to find another gastro dr because I'm concerned that he kept things from me and didn't seem prepared for the appointment and I've seen him several times before.
