Dr. Waldo Guerrero, MD

I had severe left carotid artery stenosis as a result of radiation treatment for cancer. I was a very high risk for a stroke. During a 5-day consultation at TGH in 2021 my wife and I met Dr. Guerrero and his team among other specialists trying to put a treatment plan in place, this was a very emotional and stressful time. Dr. Guerrero was very informative, comforting and explained the situation and treatment in a manner that my wife and I could understand. Dr. Guerrero never seemed to be in a hurry and took the time to respond to all of our questions and concerns in a very caring and professional manner. During the treatment and three procedures I had total confidence and a sense of calmness based on my interaction with Dr. Guerrero and his team. Thanks to Dr. Guerrero, his team, all the nurses and staff at Tampa General & USF Medical I have a new lease on life and I'm so thankful and appreciative of the wonderful and expert care I received. I very highly recommend Dr. Guerrero!

Dr. Guerrero was assigned to my husband's case upon arrival at TGH after a bad motorcycle accident. He saved my husband's life. He is the most professional, honest, and kind doctor we have worked with. He took time to make sure we understood the injury and the procedures, as well as all associated risks. We have had numerous outpatient follow up visits with him, and he spends just as much time, attention, and detail speaking with us at those appointments as he did while we were in the Neuro ICU. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Dr. Guerrero and his team and the kindness and professionalism they have shown us. He is by far the best. My husband is alive and still with his family because of him.

In September 2021 I went to TGH with migraines and diminished eye site. I meet Dr. Guerrero when we learned I had an AVM. He was the BEST doctor. He explained everything in detail about my treatment plan. He took care of me and showed genuine care and concern for me and my husband. He is as concerned with follow up as he is with the treatment I received in the hospital. He is detail oriented, kind, compassionate, and a GREAT doctor. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Guerrero has been a Godsend! As an RN I have worked with many docs, many specialists- I work hand in hand with specialists daily. I can honestly say I have NEVER crossed paths with anyone who compares to the skill, professionalism, bedside manner as Dr. G! He meets you where you are and cares for the entire family. At 33 I almost became a widow and my children without a father The only thing that separated that from my reality was God and Dr. G. HE SAVED MY HUSBANDS LIFE. Held our hand the entire way. After he coiled his aneurysm we spent 2 months in the ICU- and though we were no longer on his case, we saw him nearly everyday. His wisdom and compassion filled the room. His presence brought peace and his words brought renewed strength. He was patient with my anxiety, calming to my fears and absolutely excelled performing such delicate skills that would ultimately allow my husband to come home to his family. Always a phone call away during follow up which is absolutely PRICELESS

Dr. Guerrero is honest, caring and extremely gifted. Everyone at Tampa General Hospital respects and speaks highly of him. Excellent neurosurgeon and very pleasant to be around. I highly recommend him!
