Dr. Walter Boardwine, DO

Dr Boardwine is an EXCEPTIONAL orthopedic surgeon!!! He saw my 86 yr old mother who had fallen & broke her pelvis & other bones in that area as well as her wrist which was deformed majorly on a weekend! He did surgery on her w a local instead of anesthesia what we wanted cause she had a very bad ??! He was kind & caring & had a great bedside manner! He also talked like a normal person not like he was superior w a ton of medical jargon which I appreciated! I highly recommend him! Sincerely, Dr. Kim Bryan

Didn’t listen, Didn’t order mri that ED dr wanted. Only looked at my age and made bad assumptions. Wasted weeks of my life until I saw different ortho surgeon and rec’d proper tests and treatment. Always took week or more to get appt or phone response. Awful, negligent “care.”

On June 7th I was scheduled for rotator cuff repair on August 11th. August 6th I began making calls seeking pre-admission for the surgery with no luck. Finally on August 10th around 4:00PM when I called I was informed that approval had been denied pending a peer to peer consultation. Dr Boardwine had failed to follow protocol for this procedure by not having an MRI done. Approval request was not submitted in a timely manner so this could be completed prior to surgery and I would have no surgery on August 11th. I only learned this because I made repeated calls to find out what was going on. I never received a single call from Dr Boardwine or DMH informing me of this issue and indeed to this date have still received no communication from either party. The lack of concern for my well-being is appalling. I have been unable to sleep in my bed for 3 months due to pain and this failure has been devastating. I have since been seen by another surgeon and would recommend looking elsewhere.

Dr. Boardwine made extensive repairs to my shoulder!!! Excellent results! He is so kind and made me feel comfortable. He has done surgical procedures on many of my friends with very good results!! I will continue to recommend him. We are fortunate to have him in Elkins, WV

Very Caring Dr. As a young woman who had never had anything serious happen before, no stitches, broken bones, ER, or hospital stay, I was petrified because of the tragedy that had occurred and was in fear of losing a hand instead of maybe just a finger from Bad emergency room care immediately following my accident. He calmed my fears, took charge and told me it was gonna be alright. Doc, I'm still typing with hands and 10 fingers. I wish you were here in MO, my back is giving me He))
