Condescending and dismissive experience
I was referred to him by his colleague for an epidural after an MRI. I made the epidural appointment and was told to take the day off. Which I did. Repeated calls to the office about if I needed to do anything before hand were dismissed. His staff was very short and unhelpful. Then I waited in the waiting room an hour the day of the appointment and I didn’t even get an epidural. He “diagnosed” me and told me to try a steroid dose pack without ever even looking at the MRI or my chart. He told me he works in top athletes so he knows what he is talking about and my problem is common. That was not what his colleague who actually looked at the MRI said! I made him go look at the MRI and he stuck to what he said but I wouldn’t expect him to admit to being wrong. He was very condescending and dismissive of me and of the orthopedic doctor who referred me to him and the immunologist. I will not be going back to him. It was a waste of time.

Dr Olan is terrible ?? He supposedly gave me Kyphoplasty surgery. I did not see him before the surgery or after the surgery. I am still in as much pain if not more. I called him 10 consecutive days in a row and the man did not have the decency to return my call knowing that the surgery was unsuccessful and I was in a lot of pain. Does not seem to care about me or any other patients as human beings or medical patients.

The worst Dr I have seen. Doesn’t return calls, had a kyphoplasty and I didn’t even see him before or after procedure. I don’t even know if he really worked on me. Do not recommend him. Still in a lot of pain…

Never posted a review of a doctor before but want all to be forewarned. Been seeing him since 2015 for injections. Moderately successful results and pleasant manner during visits. But though my calls were not often he would never call you back if you call (or email) to report a concern about an injection (eg, excessive pain, failure of relief). Assistant said that "he is a surgeon he doesn't really return calls." Got to point where I was speaking to his asst daily for weeks but still no resp

It seems that all he does is injections. There is no discussion of treatment options, medications or anything else. The injection will, according to him, resolve the pain problem. If it doesn’t, try another injection. He spends minimal time with the patient.

If I could rate lower than one star I would do it. What a horrible experience. First, It took weeks to make an appointment. The actual appointment itself was awful between the long wait time, Dr. Olan not introducing himself, explaining the procedure in medical lingo I didn't understand, spent barely a two minutes with me, didn't look at my chart etc. What was worse is his scheduler Tracy was so rude to me that after I left the appointment I burst into tears. Oh and she still hasn't called me!

Dr. Olan, great compassionate Neurosurgeon. I definitely would recommend him and his staff to everyone! I had a Brain Aneurysm at work in DC and was rushed to the George Washington Hospital in D.C. My family was contacted in Philadelphia, PA and they rushed to my side in D.C. and spoke with the Neurosurgeon, Doctors and Nurses. Through God's Grace, I survived and am truly thankful that God allowed Dr. Olan and his staff to care for me. There are no words to describe how grateful I am.
