Horrible experience
I find it funny, sad and honestly concerning that this man erased my review because I spoke the truth. The truth was not good. My dad had bladder cancer. BEFORE he entered to OR, Dr. W had a copy of his PET scan. My sister got a call from the OR stating my dad’s cancer metastasized. IF we knew this prior to surgery (Dr W should have looked at this PET scan) we could have talked it over and 100% wouldn’t put my dad through this horrific surgery that landed him at Stony Brook ER because he was peeing blood. He spent most of his final days in the hospital. Although my dad would have passed at some point his death was hastened by this surgery. Surgery was September 12. He died October 3. I think that says it all.

Good surgeon, poor communicator
Dr. Waltzer may be a skilled surgeon, but with my experience, he had zero compassion and very poor communication skills. His initial diagnosis was incorrect, and when you are dealing with cancer a little compassion goes a long way.

Simply the Best!!!
Dr Waltzer has surrounded himself with the most caring people you could want to care for you. Dr Waltzer is a very talented surgeon he communicates with you in a way that you understand what he is saying. He performs his surgery second to none. His PA Matt Peterson rounds out the practice with his upbeat personality and he is a perfect fit with his heart full caring. My wife had major surgery with this practice and will attest to the care that she received

Dr Waltzer may be a great Dr but the customer service, level of care and compassion is subzero. They do not care about you, they care about booking the O.R. . Absolutely atrocious experience. Before you decide on any Dr get several opinions.

An absolutely outstanding and caring surgeon. Throughout the whole process of preparing me for and actually performing my recent cystectomy, Dr Waltzer and his staff were totally professional, ensuring that I was fully informed about the whole procedure. He ensured that I had the best care during and after the operation. ,

I had a high risk pregnancy due to an obstruction in my ureter causing my left kidney to be fail. I was told by another urologist to get an abortion but Dr Waltzer enabled me to continue with the pregnancy. I had a healthy baby girl and then Dr Waltzer removed my kidney in order to save my life. Thanks to Dr Waltzer's excellent care I was able to have my child. He was so caring and sensitive to my desire to continue with my pregnancy. I'll never forget everything he did for me.
