Back surgery.
Had lower back surgery for pain. I still have the pain. But now I can barely walk. Have to use a cane. Feel like I could fall down. I have a few times. She really messed me up. Stay away from her.

Dr. James shouldn't be a Doctor.
James, has almost ruined so many peoples lives, leaving them hacked up after surgery and leaking spinal fluid. Leading many of her victims to die, she has been fired from the local hospital and had a horrific reputation, if you or someone you love need a neurosurgeon...stay far away from her.

Condescending, rigid, cold, no empathy whatsoever and her staff? Just as rude, impatient, no compassion, unbelievable —An office of witches. Horrible experience.

Incorrect diagnosis and unprofessional scheduling
Dr.James misdiagnosed me and scheduled me for a surgery that wouldn't have fixed my problem. Luckily for me, she cancelled and rescheduled my surgery FOUR TIMES. After the fourth time, I told her I was done and would be seeing a neurosurgeon in Flagstaff. I dodged a bullet.

I was very impressed with Dr. James. She referred me to her yoga specialists which I also liked very much. BUT, I had to cancel my appointment on Tues. Feb. 6th with Samantha due to the fact that I have a bad sinus infection and was feeling very poorly. I called Tues. morning at 8:10 and left a message that I needed to cancel my appointment. The office girl Taylor called me at 11:52 and said that I missed my appt and they would have to charge me for a no show. I told her I called and left a message, she said they never got it. Which indicates they did something wrong, because I certainly left a message. I told her I was sick and she said if I didn't give 24 hr notice, I would be charged anyway. I said you expect me to come in when I am sick and she said yes, you have to give 24 hr notice. I said I wasn't that sick until Tues. morning. They did end up waiving the charge, but be careful. That is a very bad policy and way too rigid.

I would give a -10 if I could.
I waited for almost two hours to see the doctor. Then all she did was flick my finger nails and said she would contact Imaging for some tests. The office was total confusion!

First, do no harm.
Dr. James refilled my baclofen pump for approx. 2 years. When she did the surgery to replace it a few years back, she left me with a ping pong sized lump of skin/surface anomaly (scar tissue) that is more prevalent than the actual pump outline under my abdomen. After numerous complaints by me on the problem, she dismissed it as ' the risk of surgical uncertainty'. When I foolishly and quite humorously, suggested that some semblance of litigation might be my only recourse, she dismissed me as a patient, even though I apologized profusely before her decision and considering that she is the only provider of that service in N. Az., this was very problematic as I have been forced to travel to Phoenix every few month for that service. I am a senior citizen, confined to a wheel chair. The subsequent harm inflicted on me by her flippant decision, more than likely attributed to her hurt feelings, left me wondering how serious some Dr.'s take the Hippocratic oath. Sorry Dr. J, you hurt me.

Amazing pain relief for my spouse's back pain after she implanted a spinal cord stimulator years ago. Hands down the best surgeon in Prescott we have been to. Very friendly too. Accepts VA referrals and also has a clinic in Flagstaff.

Crps
Dr. James diagnosed my crps and provided treatment that actually helps. I am also unable to take pain meds. Her staff helped with breathing and relaxation techniques. The relief I have received has increased my quality of life. She does what is needed and listens. I didn't believe her when she said she could help. I am glad I was wrong.

Can't really comment on the doctor herself...as I've never been able to meet her. Went in November, saw her NP, then front desk told me they wouldn't be able to get me an appt for epidural injections until after the first of the year because they wouldn't have anesthesia until then. ??? Well, my deductible has started all over again and I still haven't been called. I called and told their front desk to remove me from their list. I had to move on to a different doctor. Maybe these last 6 days of horrible sciatica pain and little sleep has left me grouchy...or, maybe I hate being forgotten. ?????

Excellent. I have worked in the past with physicians in a hospital setting. Her demeanor is reassuring and professional. She was concise, and frank with her assessment and recommendations. She is at the top of my list of practitioners. Add to that the friendliness and equally professional presentation of her staff leads to a high thumbs up for her practice.

Dr. James is the most caring doctor I have ever met and I have met numerous with my 15yr old disability. She treats the entire person, not just the problem. She focuses on pain management through the use of modern medicine and lifestyle adaptation. Her approach is one of long term health and management of symptoms and pain. He entire staff is super kind and caring. They know your name and are always ready to listen. Walking into Dr. James' office is like walking into "Cheers." Excellent Doctor!

Dr. James is incredibly talented and her staff is so warm and friendly. I came to her with chronic back pain and could feel an improvement after the first visit. Her therapists provide bodywork and great insight into ways to reduce pain through stretching, exercise and other activities that can easily be done at home. I cannot recommend her enough.
