The office staff canceled my appointment because I
I have been a patient with Dr. Applegarth's staff for years. When I showed up for my offfice visit recently, the office staff canceled my appointment that day because I am now on Humana Medicare. They were very rude and would not discuss it further. They also canceled my annual check-up for skin cancer. My union said that Humana would not be a problem.

Never saw him in 18 months
I am giving this office 2 stars as they did write scripts. BUT in 18 m0nths I never saw a dermatologist. Just a NP or office manager. The office did bill insurance for a Dermatology visit. What really disappoints me is, when my insurance changed from Anthem to Humana, the office told me that they would no longer see me or write script. The would not even correspond with my specialty pharmacy to assist me in prescription assistance. I have to find a new dermatologist and start over. This is just a billing machine.

Excellent Dr. for all Dermatology Needs!
My husband and I have been going to Dr. Applegarth for many years. He is professional, knowledgeable, and shows caring and concern for his patients. He takes time to explain and also to answer any questions we might have. We are completely satisfied with Dr. Applegarth and his staff. We highly recommend Applegarth Dermatology!

Extremely disappointed
The NP I saw was very condescending and dismissive of my concerns. I was there for a skin cancer screening, my first ever. Being light skinned and having spent many summers beaching it, I had a couple small spots of minimal concern and wanted an overall checkup. He did nothing to establish rapport. He asked about the areas of concern. After rapidly dismissing them as not significant or suspect, he began the screening. He looked at the crown of my head for about two seconds and then scanned body areas. Based on my research of what to expect, this NP did a most minimal skin screening exam at best. He then pulled out a chart of pics explaining to me what to look for, telling me what asymmetrical means and left me feeling like an over-anxious child with a skinned knee who thought they might have broke their leg. He was rude, arrogant, lacked compassion gave not even close to a thorough exam. I will not return and not ever recommend. The only positive was the polite office staff.

Good experience
Dr A does a good job. His PAs are also good. The office staff can be mechanical, but I've never had a problem with them. The office was clean. I never had a giant wait.

I am appalled that this medical facility allowed all employees to go maskless . This is a time when omicron is on the rise in Indiana and extremely transmitted in a indoor facility. This is unacceptable and should be reported to the affiliate hospital. The NP I saw had the personality of a surgeon!!! He’s a nurse practitioner and I will never go back to this so called medical faculty!!!!! And will report!!!!

Went to this guy years ago...had appointment scheduled. When I got there they said I didn't have an appt. I explained I did and the women that acted like a guy threatened to call the police on my husband because he told me to "come on lets go."in a slightly raised voice. They said the only way I could have my appt was if I paid another copay!! I wouldn't recommend this place to get a mole taken off my dog. They did nothing for my skin problem but tried to pawn me off on their other "Dr" at their other office. The staff is rude, argumentative and threatening.

I was a new patient. I was not given any location for the address. I was about 20 minutes late. They would not work me in, so I would have to reschedule. I made my appointment over 3 months ago, it was their first opening for a new patient. I explained I will not be rescheduling! They to busy to need my business. Good luck to You, and don’t be late!!!

Dr. Applegarth did a poor job on a mole removal, leaving a part behind. I was not aware that this was possible because it was not explained to me. When I called in to ask about this, I was told I needed to come back and pay for another appointment. Instead of working to rectify anything, Dr. was dismissive, defensive and patronizing. I also believe that he was being dishonest in his defensiveness. I was completely disgusted and will never go there again.

Definetly recommend Dr. Applegarth. I have always had such a good experience with this office. No issues with my Bill, I pay my copay upfront just like others offices, they don't make me pay my deductible up front but Bill my insurance first . My husband was laid off last winter and when I called them about my balance they were very accommodating.
