My primary MD referred me to hematology and I saw Dr Bonis. He took a very thorough history and gave me very clear and detailed explanations. I was very impressed by the scope of his knowledge. He is easy to talk to and personable. This was the best doctor interaction I have had in many years.

Best doctor in 84 years
I was referred to oncology by my neurologist who is treating my peripheral neuropathy. Blood tests had some concerns, hence my appt. with oncology. I saw Dr. Bonis and without a doubt it was the best and most informative doctor's appointment I've had in my 84 years. He couldn't have been better. If all doctors were as professional and thorough as Dr. Bonis the nation would be far healthier. Absolutely first rate. Pleasant in all ways. Totally pleased I saw him.

Cold and not companionate to cancer patients
Dr Bonis was my oncologist after I received a diagnosis of colon cancer. I had a colon resection (stage 2) and saw Dr Bonis only once. He didn't explain what I could expect and told me I should get blood tests every 3 months for 2 years then every 6 months. He said I could come and see him if I felt the need. I never saw him again. You shouldn't treat cancer patients in that manner. I was scare and confused. He only made it worse. Another doctor took his place and I was extremely grateful. I finally had a doctor who cared.

A good Doctor
My experience with Dr. Bonis was quite good. He was patient in answering my questions and was thorough with information. At my age I have seen several Doctors and Dr. Bonis is one of the best. Dr. Bonis was professional, friendly and communicative. While nervous I was able to relax with his engaging personality.

I saw Dr Bonis a few years ago for follow up after breast cancer treatment. I loved him and his sense of humor. Flash forward to a diagnosis of metastatic disease for me and it was a completely different experience. He seemed jaded, griped a fair amount about doctors who were leaving the cancer center and then basically told me I had months to live. I was so shocked I went home and cried. I have now found another doctor who is understanding and encouraging and the treatment I received is keeping my cancer stable. This makes me sad because I used to really like him.
