Survivor, new to gradishar. no stars!!
Awful. Diminshed and dismissed my concerns about pain, appetite decrease and requests for blood work. I am a stage 3C inflammatory breast cancer survivor with a male relative (uncle) had breast cancer and I am BRCA2 positive. I reminded him of this and his response “we see a lot of those”!!! I’m afraid of a recurrence and that was his response. My exam lasted 3.5minutes.

Dr. Gradishar is too busy and doesn’t have a good system in place to make sure things don’t fall through the cracks. He missed to order key scans and doesn’t take your concerns seriously so you constantly have to advocate for yourself.

While he is not the warmest, most communicative doctor, he is extremely experienced and competent. He cured my cancer and for that I will be forever grateful. I have found him to be warmer as time has gone on and I see him for follow-ups.

I'm reading all of these negative reviews so wanted to share something positive. I have been seeing Dr. Gradishar (and Kelly)for 3 years and have been absolutely satisfied. I appreciate Dr. Gradishar's quiet demeanor which maybe some folks interpret as cold. Our visits are short because (thankfully!), I have been cancer free and there is no need for the visits to linger. In fact, this is the only appointment I know will be on time and I get the care I need kindly and efficiently. Kelly has also been great. I'm not sure what people are expecting from a professional...seems to me, though, that he is not there to be your friend, but rather a competent Doctor who will treat your cancer!

I’m very pleased with Dr. Gradishar and his team. I got 3 opinions prior to my double mastectomies, he was referred by another oncologist as the top oncologist. The office will always return phone calls for any questions I might have.

I saw Dr. Gradishar 25 years ago for Stage 2 breast cancer and after surgery, radiation and chemo therapy have been incredibly fortunate to be cancer free. He has always been a resource for me even when I wasn’t his patient anymore. I couldn’t recommend this caring, intelligent doctor more.

Don't ask any questions and don't expect anything but a cursory. checkbox exam. Dismissive, no compassion or warmth. Typical response to questions is "Why would you want to do that?" He's better off in the research lab. Clearly does not like spending time with patients. I'd rather brush my teeth with a chainsaw than go here.

I find Dr. Gradishar to be dismissive and cold. Exams are cursory, get-it-over-with experiences, in which I little confidence that he'd spot anything if something was there. Saying he's not warm and fuzzy is an understatement. He may be internationally known for his research, but his bedside manner and the respect he gives this patient is nil. As soon as you start to ask questions, he shuts down. "Why would you want to do that?" (indignantly) is a typical response to questions. NO compassion.

Dr. Gradishar spends absolutely minimal time with patients . He is NEVER available for any urgent situations at all. He treats patients as widgets on a production line that generates him $$$

I too was a bit overwhelmed by my first meeting with Dr. Gradishar. He explained so much in such a direct manner. I think that sometimes comes across as cold, but I can tell you that over 5 years with him, I have come to see the wonderful and knowledgeable doctor that he is. He greats me with a smile and listens to all of my fears and concerns at every appointment. The staff at Northwestern is beyond amazing....especially his PA.

I do not recommend this uncaring, arrogant person. He misdiagnosed my cancer and then put the blame on others. He never showed his face when I came in for treatment, so I went to a credible hospital to continue treatment. Gradishar is so busy trying to gain prominence he gave no attention to my case and never apologized for ignoring the pathologist. He should not be allowed to call himself a doctor. If I could post negative stars, I would.

Dr. Gradishar and dr. Bethke saved my life. Their staff is extremely experienced and confident. Their job is to change the course of a disease that can potentially take your life. Their amazingly skilled. When my life is at stake, experience and confidence means more than friendliness. Which he is a very nice person. If you have cancer like I DID and you want bedside manor , find an excellent therapist.

I found both Dr. Gradishar and his staff very cold. They were not at all accomadating. They seemed rushed and annoyed everytime I was there. It wasn't a one time occurance and they were so rude at times. I am happy to say that I no longer require their services and if something should happen in the future, I would absolutely not go back to that office.

Dr. Gradishar has no bedside manner. He stood by the door most of the short time that he spent with me (10 minutes) like the room was on fire. He also recommended chemotherapy when it was not warranted for my stage 1 luminal A cancer.
