Truly a lifesaver
Dr Hogan was truly a lifesaver for me. His expertise was evident from the first moment he met with my wife and I. It is obvious he always comes prepared for visits by reviewing our charts and spends all the time necessary to answer all of our questions with great care and compassion. Most of all, he provided us with HOPE during the most uncertain times of my life. Thank you Dr Hogan and Mayo.

Highly recommend
Dr. Hogan has been seeing my husband for almost a year now. His ability to take care of issues that arise & get my husband appointments in other departments if needed is outstanding. The care he has received from Dr. Hogan and Mayo Clinic has been on a higher level than we received in another system. He is knowledgeable, works hard to work with the whole team to care for his patients, and asks the patient for their input as well. Our initial appointment felt hurried but it was because the wrong type of appointment was set up by the other system we were coming from. Later appointments felt better and had a good pace to them. I appreciate all the support we have received from Dr. Hogan.

Dr. Hogan uses very conservative treatment protocols, termed “outdated” by a world-renowned hospital our family member received treatment from later. As an example, we were told that the preparatory treatment used before a bone marrow transplant at Mayo fails 40% of the time. Dr. Hogan initiated a clinical trial he knew very little about. As a result, he didn’t prescribe the necessary pre-meds and our family member experienced severe side effects. He and his team blamed those side effects on the disease rather than the treatment. It took our research and consultation with another hospital to realized that wasn’t true. Dr. Hogan and his team tried to push my family member out of treatment at Mayo and elsewhere. He wouldn't consult with other doctors, he used scare tactics to keep us from speaking with other hospitals, he declined to provide further treatment once we did seek consultation elsewhere, and his department pushed palliative appointments against our family member’s wishes.

Dr. Hogan is incredibly knowledgable, and listens to my concerns. Im always 100% confident that I am in the right place when I go to his office. He cares, but will not just tell you what you want to hear, as he looks to improve a patient's quality of life. I've been seeing him for over 10 years, for essential thrombocythemia, and wouldn't change a thing concerning my doctor, or my course of treatment.
