Dr. William Kokal, MD

I was hospitalized in Cape Coral Hospital; Dr. Kokal saw me when he was doing rounds. As soon as he met me; he looked at my leg and told me that it was “cancer” within 7 seconds. No test. No bloodwork, nothing. Next told me that I had cancer seven times in the first five minutes of meeting me. He wanted to do exploratory surgery the very next day. I looked him up on health grades & I declined. I found out later that Dr. Kokal charged my insurance over $1500 for the “Operating Room” anyways; that he never used. He waited 11 months to file the claim with Medicare. Medicare paid it. I went to another hospital in Naples and they diagnosed me having “venous ulcer.” I told them everything…Dr. Brown apologized on behalf of the entire medical profession and said that they failed me; “Any 1st year resident should of been able to properly diagnose & treat my condition.” There are still great doctors out there; Kokal is not one of them.

I had a non healing foot wound I had been dealing with for 2 1/2 months before I saw Dr Kokal. With his treatment by my second appointment it was healed. I was awakened from my endoscopic procedure with the news I had esophageal cancer. I was immediately referred to Dr. Kokal who operated on me for this deadly cancer. Today 11 yrs later, I am still cancer free and living a great life. Thank you Dr Kokal!!!

Dr. Kokal performed an appendectomy on me several years ago that led to internal bleeding and a hematoma that crushed my sciatic nerve, put me in the hospital with intense pain and left me with a permanent sciatic neuropathy. Dr. Kokal never came to see me in the hospital after the initial surgery. The care I received at Lee Healthpark was so awful that I had to be sent by ambulance to Tampa General where the doctors there figured out what was wrong and literally saved my life.

I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY DR KOKAL ,ALL THE NURSES, NURSES ASSISTANT , THE RECEPTION STAFF AND ANYONE WHO WORKS AT LEE WOUND CARE ON PLANTATION IS EXCELLENT I GIVE A 5 STAR RATING FOR THIS LOCATION . THEY HELP US HEAL NOT ONLY MEDICALLY BUT ARE THERE FOR US IN COMFORTINGTHEIR PATIENTS AT OUR MOST DIFFICULT TIME . THEY GET US BACK ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY THE BEST WOUND CARE IN LEE COUNTY. WOUNDS COME IN ALL SHAPES AND SIZES THANK YOU SO MUCH. WE ARE ALMOST THERE DR WOUNDERFUL

I had an emergent procedure done after having a j tube placed inappropriately by a colleague in Dr. Kokal's office. What I do remember, will never forget, and have been diagnosed with PTSD from: is coming to in a room with Dr. Kokal's first inside my abdomen... all the way to mid-forearm. I remember being terrified, trying to scream and being told to "shut up", that "... you cannot possibly be feeling that" I could feel it, could see it, and won't ever forget it. He shouldn't be practicing.

Dr. Kokal was very thorough explaining my surgery and the risks associated with it. He stressed the importance of waiting to perform the surgery until my infection was under control. As a result of this recommendation he was able to perform my surgery laprascopic which resulted in a much shorter and less painful recovery. Dr. Kokal saw me every day I was in the hospital to check up on my progress. I recommend Dr. Kokal without reservation. Job well done. Thank you.
