Great doctor for lung disorders/sleep apnea
I saw Dr. McKensie for sleep apnea. His office staff was very efficient and professional. They requested I bring previous records. He had me get several tests in his office, very thorough to check for lung disorders. He ordered a sleep study and promptly ordered what I needed. Definitely recommend

Avoid!
Rude, arrogant, condescending. Will not email, mail new patient forms. Said "insurance demands all of these appointments" including last one to tell me I need a BIPAP after 15+ yrs of sleep Therapy. Would NOT order BiPAP until that 1 minute appointment; a 75 minute one- way trip for me. Will not use Telehealth. Most unprofessional physician encountered in 65+ years! Find another doctor!

Orders expensive tests not covered by insurance.
Office staff is rude. Wait was long. Doctor was rushed and didn't explain anything. When he talked it was in a mumble and hard to understand. Technicians run you through tests with no explanations. The biggest problem, orders blood tests that are experimental, not approved by FDA and extremely expensive ($3850). These tests are not covered by insurance and nobody in his office even cared to mention this. As a matter of fact, I was told the test would not cost me anything!

I have been trying to get refills of my inhaler for 3 weeks, When i call they transfer me to the nurses line. Basically an answering machine. They refuse to call me back. I have left at least a dozen messages. The Doctor is great but i seem to have this trouble getting refills more and more.

was good last year but staff isn’t on top of demands for medication refills. This is a very big problem when you can’t breathe.

Dr. Mckenzie is the best pulmonary dr around. I started seeing him when I was diagnosed with asthma. He's helped my condition tremendously. It's a lot easier to deal with when you have a great dr who's always looking out for you.

My PCP referred me to Dr. McKenzie to have some testing done. I've struggled with getting a good nights sleep lately and my PCP couldn't figure out why. My first visit with Dr. McKenzie went very well. I scheduled an appointment easily, they got me in much quicker than I expected. Everyone at the office was very friendly and helpful. When I finally met Dr. McKenzie, I was amazed at how personable he was. He sat with me, asked some questions, and together we decided what our next steps should be.

I've been needing to see a sleep specialist for far too long, and I honestly have no idea why I waited as long as I did. I really must not have been excited about adding ANOTHER specialist into my life, but the overall improvements in my quality of living since I've become a patient of Dr. Mckenzie is amazing. Thank you so much.

WORST DOCTOR - EVER!!! The staff and Gary (technician) were very nice and helpful. However, Dr McKenzie is the worst doctor I have ever been to - and that's saying a lot! After insisting that I spend $300 on tests - BEFORE HE SAW ME - he waltzed into the room, sat down, and looking down at my paperwork he mumbled something about my tests. Absolutely NO eye contact. I could not understand what he was saying and when I asked him again, he looked very irritated. He asked me nothing about my history or the issues I was having. He listened to my heart and lungs and flew back out of the room - as if he couldn't wait to get the heck out of there. He spent less than 5 minutes with me! Obviously, I will not be going back. Please learn from my experience and go somewhere (ANYWHERE) else. He had a waiting room full of elderly people that he was running through there like cattle.

BEWARE. I did the breathing tests and Mr. Register was great. Dr. McKenzie was in the office with me for 3 min. Never asked me any questions about my medical history & told me I had sleep apnea, probably had asthma. He said you had a chest xray in Jan., then he asked ME if I wanted to use that one or get a new one. I said, "you tell me". He spent no time with me. I called back and spoke with the office manager and she was no different. She doesn't want to be there. It was an awful visit.

This was my first visit with Dr. William McKenzie at the Lung and Sleep Center in Panama City, Florida. The office staff was friendly, professional and each did their respective jobs. The pulmonary test technician, Gary Register, was experienced (33 years with Bay Medical Center Hospital), very knowledgeable, and excellent at all of the tests that he performed. The head nurse conducted a very thorough medical data interview. Dr. McKenzie was very direct and professional in his review of my medic

Dr. McKenzie has changed my life. After the same repeated illness, I was referred to Dr. McKenzie by my primary physician. He has done a wonderful job helping me to understand what was happening to my lungs as well as helping with prevention. The addition of a CPAP machine has be life changing for me. The quality of my life has improved greatly. I always find his staff kind and helpful.

Dr. Mckenzie is a great, and compassionate physician. After multiple encounters with other physicians and a misdiagnosis, Dr. Mckenzie was able to correctly diagnose me and treat me! I am very happy I found him! He is very intelligent, personable, and very professional. I recommend him to anyone who needs a good physician!

I chose Dr. McKenzie after having a bad experience with another pulmonologist. It was easy to get an appointment. I received the paperwork packet by mail. I was given a full PFT exam and ABG. The Resp. Therapist was awesome. ABG was painless. I was put in a room and about 15 minutes later, Dr. McKenzie was in, having reviewed my records. He examined me. We discussed my condition and agreed on a plan of action. I'm a Resp Ther. I knew he was a physician who understood my illness and medical needs

Pros: Knowledgeable, caring, and effective Cons: Staff is busy (but not rude) My husband, who has advanced COPD, saw Dr McKenzie for the 3rd time last month. Since we started seeing him, my husband is able to walk for almost 10 minutes at a time now and has less pain. Dr McKenzie keeps up to date on treatments, medicines, etc. He's also the 1st doctor to notice that my husband is probably depressed because of the illness, so we can get him help. We are very happy we chose Dr McKenzie.
