Dr. Rawls is a great Dr. He even helps other Dr.'s
Yes, wait time can be long, but that is when he is in a surgery that had unexpected difficulties. Let's be honest the safety of the person in surgery is most important. I have been dealing with so many Dr.'s for my mother in law and Dr. Rawls is our favorite. He is a kind soul. We did not need to wait months for her procedures. He listened to us and explained everything in a way we could understand. He made us feel like family

v urology of va failed in every way they could fail for the two year i used them as my urology doctor. i made numerous complaints to dr rawls regarding the office staff to include the loss of my file twice and the nearly two hour waits after having the appointment for a year only to fall on deaf ears without concern for me as his patient.. the staff mishandled my blood and urine specimens only to misdiagnose the condition to require a biopsy they failed to call me about the elevated psa.

My mom has been seeing Dr.Rawls for years now and I don't believe he's vigilant enough AT ALL given her history. She gets kidney stones repeatedly and due to her MS she's not aware of them until she becomes septic from blockages. Despite the repeated septic episodes, her appts aren't frequent enough and often we drive almost two hours to an appt where she simply is providing a urine sample. Why?! And her last appt (May) did reveal more stones, yet nothing done and her next appt?... July!

Wait time for appointments has been almost an hour. He performed a biopsy and set appointment for 14 days later (results arrived in 2-3 days) and subsequently cancelled it and reset for fully 1 month after results. He has not returned any of 5 messages left on my chart. Nor has his staff. He may be personally out of action, but so is his staff. Once I get my biopsy results, if I ever do, I will be finding a different doctor.
