Not impressed at all
I went to see Dr. Shear for some digestive concerns, blood in my stool, etc. He had good reviews however my experience has been not been close to good. To start, I paid out of pocket for the consult because my insurance didn’t kick in till the next month. So for ten minutes of Dr. Shear’s time I was charged $459.Following that and multiple procedures that Shear recommended, I have paid out over $5000 because I’m only 37 and it’s deemed “diagnostic”, so my insurance won’t cover most of it. Following those procedures he said I needed a CT scan and bloodwork. After all that I was told I’d get results in about a week. Two weeks go by with no call back. So I had to call in multiple times to get my results. The feedback I got was to eat more fiber, try an elimination diet and take some medication that gave me heartburn. So I quit taking it. Overall this experience has not been impressive or informative at all. I just wasted a ton of money.

Been seeing him since December 2020. Absolutely love seeing him. He is the first doctor to actually listen to me. Got my diagnosis (finally after years! of trying with other doctors and being treated like I'm crazy) and we've been working on treatments and setting goals/lifestyle changes. Highly reccomend! He's always polite and I've never left the office feeling like it was a waste of time.

This guy is so full of hubris you can't really tell him what's wrong with you. I ended up having SMA surgery because of his "diagnosis" and it was a completely unnecessary procedure. Seriously, do not go to see this man. He is a trash medical provider and will offer absolutely no help. In fact he might hurt you like he did me. I got sliced open stem to stern for no reason at all, per his "diagnosis". Then he says "oh isn't that great, there is nothing wrong!" like his misdiagnosis, unnecessary surgery, and the fact that I still have all the same problems is a good thing. Trash medical provider, arrogant rich boy. Avoid him at all expense.

Don't bother. He won't. A lot of eyes closed arrogant nodding, had to twist his arm to get an MRI. When it comes back as something rare and serious he can't be bothered to pick up the phone. Garbage medical care. He got his colonoscopy endoscope money for procedures I didn't need, but when it turned out to be something serious he wasn't interested in talking to me.
