Highly Recommend; Successful Radical Prostatectomy
I am a 51 year old who has had high PSA scores for years. After an annual physical revealed increasingly high PSA levels I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. A bit uncomfortable with my regular urologist I was fortunate enough to be led to find Dr. Smith. He performed a biopsy, which wasn't fun of course but my experience was far better than some friends of mine. I recovered from that very quickly but the results revealed a need for a radical or radiation. Dr. Smith urged me to get other opinions which I did - and all aligned with him, I needed the dreaded radical prostate removal. Dr. Smith was incredibly compassionate, remembered my name, and prayed with me before the procedure. My side effects were exactly as he prepared me for and a few months later I can attest that his surgical skills are incredible. I am 100% functional, I pee like I am 15 again and have no incontinence issues. I also have undetectable PSA. This man thanks to God saved me. I can't recommend him enough.

Great Doctor - Incompetent office staff
My 87 year old father sees Dr Smith. Dr. Smith is a very good doctor who is knowledgeable and patient with my dad. His staff is a different story. His nurses are at best stoic and sullen. They didn’t even take my dad’s blood pressure or temperature when we got there. We were concerned he might have an infection so temperature might have been important! This is the third time in three years a prescription has been sent in for medical supplies and it has not gotten to the pharmacy. These supplies are important for my dad’s care. Doesn’t it seem that the office personnel could figure out how to send a prescription correctly in three years?!? When I call with questions about the prescription I am spoken to as if I am slow witted and in a sarcastic manner. I do not know if they just treat the elderly so poorly or if it is all patients. Sadly, we will no longer be a patient of Dr. Smith because of his nursing and office staff.

Best Dr. I’ve ever had, excellent surgeon!
Dr. Smith treated me for urinary retention caused by BPH. Dr. Smith performed a simple robotic prostatectomy. I had no pain after 3 days, Dr. Smith discussed the procedure with me in detail and made me so at ease to make the decision to do the surgery. Dr. Smith is one of a handful who are certified to do robotic surgeries. On my follow up visit, Dr. Smith discussed with me what to expect after removing the catheter and is has been exactly as he described. I highly recommend Dr. Smith and have been blessed to have been referred to him. If any of my family members need to see a urologist, they will be going to him. I gave Dr. Smith a hug and thanked him for helping me get through a rough time in my life, it’s no fun if you can’t relieve your bladder due to an enlarged prostate. Dr. Smith is very mild mannered, listens to you and answers all your questions. Highly recommended!

Have had the phone ring unanswered for as much as 27 minutes before being answered. Put on hold for long periods. Dr. is too busy to sign Rx for pharmacy refils...been waiting a week so far. The contract answering service is extremely rude. However, Dr. Smith is attentive during appointments.
