incorrect diagnosis and treatment
Diagnosed Type 2 diabetes, prescribed insulin at such a high dose that I was passing out several times over 2 months. Paramedics had to administer IV glucose each time to revive me. Also prescribed too low of a dose of thyroxin to my spouse to address hyperthyroid. We cjhanged our primary care physician who rectified these problems.

I gave dr Sommers many chances. I really wanted to believe that his busy schedule was the reason why he didn’t remember what he was prescribing me. I have been going with Dr Sommers ever since The previous dr retired. Every time he wants to prescribe me something he refers to google for the side effect. Never listens to me and what I am trying to tell him. He only takes about five minutes with me reviews my blood work and leaves even if I still have questions. What really did it for me last time I went there is that he did not remember a medication he had prescribed to me. I have been taking this medication every day for at least two years and he didn’t even remember he prescribed it to me???? Mind blowing! Needless to say I won’t go back. Stay away from this dr If you value your health.

Oh, where to start? Well.. front office staff is rude and discourteous. Terse and uninformed. The office "manager" is extremely rude and shows zero compassion for patients or medical care. Dr Somers is just ok.. he's not great. The reviews are correct that state he has very little bedside manner and is curt. He comes off as cold during treatment and will flat out tell you that you don't need something... treatment, medication, etc. Clearly is lacking compassion or knowledge about the human condition. Do not go here

Tried to make an appt for a back injury and other ailments. Was told I couldn't fit everything in a "15 min block, so they scheduled me a "30 min block" a month from now. The next day my back was in even worst pain, so i scheduled a "15 min block for the next day. What a waste of time and money! He didnt examine me WHATSOEVER and was halfway out the door. I had to stop him to ask about, you know, my pain and treatment??! "Double up on Aleve, see you in March." No you won't! Finding a new doctor

I live in Santa Maria, Ca and Dr. Somers is both a knowledgeable doctor and a great guy. He is a more than worthy replacement for my previous doctor who retired (also a great guy.) I would highly recommend him.

Recently my Dr retired and Dr Somers took over the practice. I scheduled an annual review only which is covered 100% by my insurance. I have never had a problem in the past. Recently I received a bill for my co pay. After much research I was told they double billed me. One for the annual physical and one for a regular appt. this was only one appt. on one day- not 2. In essence this office double bills because they say they discussed previous health issues. I have never had this problem before
