The worst of the worst. Spacers backwards and rods that they gave up trying to cut and poked through the skin. Hospital was poor and sent me home septic only to spend another 2 weeks in another facility and the surgery had to have a complete revision. Do not trust this man.

If I had it all to do over again
If I had it all to do over again the only thing I would change is that I didn’t break my neck. Dr William Taylor is nothing short of a miracle worker when it comes to surgery. I burst fractured my C5 (splintered into pieces) back in 2005, he fixed it, and 18 years later I still have no pain, no numbness, no paralysis. And when I, as a freshly graduated college student, asked him if there were going to be any restrictions moving forward (I had dreams of becoming a dentist), he said, “Absolutely not, go live your life!” I did, I am, and I am thankful everyday for the confidence he has in his work. He’s not going to coddle you, he’s not going to sugar coat anything, he gives it to you straight. He’s a NEUROSURGEON, and I could not respect or appreciate him more for his professionalism and expertise.

Loss of strength and feeling in arm
Dr. Taylor saw me for an entire 3 minutes and shared that my imaging records showed no serious issue in the spine. I shared my pain is exceeding a 10 and he did no further assessment. Instead referred me to another doctor IN THE SAME DEPARTMENT IF NEUROSURGERY. Confirming that my visit with him was an absolute waste of time and how he had no interest in helping me. Leaving his office in more pain than what I came in with. He was an absolute waste of time and it felt like he’s not interested in helping patients by assessing further which is his job as a specialist. Would NOT recommend him at all for your specialist needs. It really feels like I’m just getting the run around from UC San Diego health.

Unfortunately, I had a very poor experience with this Doctor. His staff was fantastic however. Dr. Taylor gave me incorrect information regarding my cervical spine issues. And it's information I can verify. He appears to be jaded and is very impersonal. I believe there a many factors that go into his decisions about whether a patient needs surgery, and it seems quality for life of the patient is at the bottom of his list.

Dr Taylor is amazing! He was my second opinion after being told my tumor, inside my spinal cord, was inoperable. Dr Taylor performed my 10 hour surgery. I could’ve been a paraplegic or quadriplegic because of where my tumor was located. I’m overjoyed to say I learned to walk again in rehabilitation. I have minimal nerve damage and it’s all because of Dr Taylor’s incredible surgical skills. To this day, when I need someone to look at my MRI, it’s Dr Taylor whom I trust to look at my results.

He did a great job treating my husband. I'd almost call it a miracle. And his support staff is exemplary.

I feel that Dr. Taylor is an excellent physician regarding his position and knowledge of surgery, but he and his assistances totally lacked in communication, compassion, and caring of patient. UCSD has signs posted all over the hospital stating we care, did not feel nor received any of this from the Neurosurgery department under Dr. Taylor's care. Will continue to concern with the We Listen.
