Please do not use
Please do not use this man, he is rude and has zero bedside manners. We ask questions concerning our grandfathers condition - with my grandfathers permission- and would completely dismiss us and told us to stop talking. He would not tell us what cancer my grandfather has, as he would say 'why do you need to know, you cant do anything anyways'. Also he had the preapproval for his medications but told us he hadnt, we had proof from the insurance company they has sent it a week prior. Save yourself the grief and look elsewhere for a better oncologist.

We have been using Dr. V for 15 years. He is an outstanding doctor in both oncology and hematology. His skill and knowledge is vast. His empathy and caring far surpasses most doctors. Some of his staff are fabulous; others not so much. The wait times can be long and this is very frustrating. My biggest issue with his practice is the wait times. If that could be resolved it would be amazing. I use him because he is the best in the business and takes the time (hence the long wait times) to talk to you as a person not just a set of lab results. I highly recommend him but you have to take the wait times with the excellent care.

I have been to see Dr. Velasquez 2 times. The wait time to see him was 1.5-2 + hours each time. The 1st visit was an evaluation and blood test. The doctor seems to be knowledgeable and we had a reasonable discussion of my questionable referral. The preliminary results from my blood test looked perfect, but he told me to come back in a couple of weeks to discuss my results in detail. Since it was obvious my primary care physician had sent me there by mistake I asked Dr. Velasquez if another costly visit was indeed needed. He said I had to come back. During my 2nd visit and another 1.5 hour wait, Dr. Velasquez spends less than 2 minutes with me and tells me everything looks good and waves me off. Why would a doctor waste a patient's time just to collect a few extra $$$? A quick phone call or message would have been sufficient! Also, the front desk is the worst of any doctor’s office I have ever been to. They are extremely slow, very unfriendly and do not have any understanding

He was very patient and took the time to explain what the treatments were and how they could possibly affect me. I had seen another oncologist and was extremely disturbed by their manner and how long they kept me waiting and then gave me wrong information. With Dr. Velasquez there was none of that I couldn't have been happier with another doctor or his staff.
