It's been awhile but for some reason he was not nice. We waited in small room for what seem forever. He was very short with my mother .we were there a few times the last time I told my mom unless you want to hear a bunch of cuss words were never going back.i didn't know if my mom reminded him of someone he didn't like ? But done I see he won an award I would say his ways struck a cord in me like verbally abusive.should retire.

Dr. White did surgery on my eyelids. He is very rude and arrogant. He left one eye bigger than other and five months later my eyelids are still swollen. I felt like he could not care less and not willing to fix - of course, I would not want him to anyways I am now going to someone else who is willing to fix my eyes. I would NOT recommend going to him - don't care how much experience he has.

Dr. White cares for my 15 year old son (who has a brain tumor by his optic nerve) and has for the last 3 years. We drive from Wichita, KS to see him. I have always felt heard by him and never felt rushed. He is great with my son and making sure we both understand what is going on and not in a condescending manner. I have never had a negative thing to say about Dr. White, I appreciate him and his care for my son.

Very pompous
Very condescending. Took away my right to ask questions and his PA was the same way. I did not feel I had a right as a patient to be involved in my own care. So rude! I got a lecture about "I am right and you are wrong"

I have had a couple of surgeries performed by Dr. White on my eyelids through the years. The first surgery about five years ago needed some correction for symmetry and he willingly did the correction in the office. My latest surgery within the last few months also needed some correction, but this time he was unwilling. My eyes are no longer symmetrical and he refused to make a very minor adjustment on one eyelid. He steered me to another eye surgeon who will now charge me over $200 for the second opinion plus the thousands of dollars to redo the same surgery. Very disappointing. He has a rather large ego and does not necessarily want to hear the patient's concerns. Dr. White can be condescending, dismissive and rushed, but he can also be very kind. Depends on the day. Just know going in that he has a fairly bad bedside manner and his feathers get ruffled if asked too many questions!

Dr White May be a good surgeon, but I’m not willing to chance it with someone who acts like I’m an irritation he has to deal with as part of his day. I went for a surgical consultation and came away with come back later and advice I could get from my grandmother. Maybe he just talks down to people out of habit, but I don’t like it. I’ll got to someone else.

I am an eye surgeon and have been referring my most difficult oculoplastic problems to Dr. White for many years. His expertise is eyelids, tear ducts, orbit. His results are excellent, he is a compassionate physician and communicates extremely well. Feedback from my patients has been outstanding. I recently developed an eyelid problem and saw him as a patient to remove the lesions. His reputation is well deserved. Best in the Midwest.

A plastic surgeon in Joplin, MO recommended Dr White when a basal cell tumor was found growing around my right eye. Although I could still see out of my eye, a CT scan showed the tumor had attached to the eye and the only sure way to get rid of the cancer was to remove my eye with the tumor. You might describe Dr White as "direct", and maybe to some that means "business-like", but I've appreciated his directness. He did a very skilled/clean edge job on the flap that now covers where my eye was.

Had an appointment with Dr. White May of 2016. After waiting 6 weeks to get the appointment, driving 150 miles and waiting for 2 hrs in his office I was complaining to a nurse on the wait time when he came in and over heard. He rudely and quickly informed me "I am a specialist and if the time you had to wait bothers you I can walk you to the front. After acquiring my co payment back I left. I wish I would of told him that with all the letters in "specialist" I couldn't spell God or Lord.

Dr. White is capable, however, he has no "bedside manner" whatsoever. He left me waiting for :45 to tell me biopsy results. He could not be described as warm, friendly, or caring...his response to my complaint of having to wait so long was that he didn't even look at me and said, "well, that's typical for this office."

As another commenter mentioned - always in a hurry & that leaves you as a patient VERY frustrated. I had two procedures with him & left unhappy. Quite frankly, I was in tears more often than I should have been. I was one of his much younger patients, & he didn't really care much about the ascetic outcome of my procedure just that it was done. I'm left with an outcome that is no better than what I started with. The last straw was at my final follow up, I waited 1.5 hrs to see him.. never did.

Dr. White did a skin graft right near my left eye. I had basal cell cancer and had MOHS before the graft. It looks terrific--no one can see it and it healed well. Dr. White is easy to work with and has a good patient/doctor rapport.

Dr White gave the correct diagnosis and treatment when 2 other specialist had no idea what was going on. By describing my symptoms to him he ordered tests and had me in his office within the week. He had an idea of what was going on and he was right. I had a mass growing behind my eye. He did not sugarcoat the diagnosis. He told me what he would do and what the possible outcomes would be. His follow up care was excellent.
