The Best ENT Doctor in the Area
I have been a patient of Dr Kao for well over 20 years and would never even consider another ENT Doctor. In the past, she set my broken nose did sinus surgery and deals with my hearing loss on a yearly basis. She has always been friendly and quite thorough when I have seen her. I am shocked at the number of negative comments from people who when you read most, are apparently looking for a counselor or 'buddy' as opposed to a straight forward medical professional.

Dr Kao Did 2 Surgeries on My Thyroid, Cancer
The problem with me is not Dr Kao but the people who answer her office phone. Called because now my son has nodule on thyroid. They say wait a minute. 15 minutes later nothing. Hang up. Same person says same thing I said no. She says thanks and does it anyway. It is not right.

Exceptional physician
If you want skill and expertise, Dr. Kao is your doctor. If you want to be told what you want to hear, she probably isn’t. She recently performed surgery on me and I could not be happier with the results.

Poor bedside manner not thorough
Dr. Kao upon entering the exam room seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. She seemed irritated with me was short with me and not friendly. When she examined me it was one, two three, rush rush rush. When she looked at my ears and sinuses she went so fast like going through the motions only, not very thorough. I was stunned like a deer in headlights at the way she made me feel and was not helpful at all. When I was leaving I passed her in the hallway and she just glared at me, no smile no nothing.. was very weird.

Don't waste your time
Went to see her Because I knew I was having major problems with my head. She totally blew off everything I said. And here I am 4 months later finding out I need surgery and have mold in my sinuses. She could have cared less in Listening to a patient that was begging for help. Your job as a physician is to help people and that has been changing.

I REALLY don't get the negative stuff. I've seen her twice now. She's pleasant, thorough and very clear in telling me what she's seeing and what she thinks we should do. She answers all of my questions. Seems to me she's an excellent doctor.

I have been going to Dr Kao since the late 90s or early 2000 I don’t understand these bad reviews Sure with her southern accent she may be tough to understand However she is the best ENT Dr in the area I trust her 100% I did a lot of research thru all my contacts at reading hospital and they all said dr Kao was the one to see She doesn’t have a lot of time to get to know all her patients or even spend much time with them But when you need to see her for a problem, her staff tries to get you in to see her ASAP And the staff is also very nice

Took my 88 year old mother in to get her 6 mth. Check up. Dr. Kao definitely has a bad bed side manor not friendly but besides that she is rough with her patients. This morning my mother woke up with her ear canal full of dried blood from a simple wax cleaning. I called the doctor office and after not hearing anything for two hours I called them back. They said that the doctor said it was from the cleaning. My mother has been going to this office not this doctor for over 10 years and never had t

Very disappointed, friends recommended, did their thyroid surgery. When I called for appt. was told that she treats thyroid problems. (? hypothyroidism). She came in: no introduction, was very curt. When I tried to tell her my symptoms concerning my thyroid she basically smirked them off. Looked at trachea for hoarseness. Wanted referral to endocrinologist, said she didn't like any. That if I do have hypothyroidism my family doctor could handle it! Labs ordered, for my fam. doc. to review!

I was very satisfied with Dr. Kao and pleased with my total experience at her office. She was extremely professional and put me at ease when I was stressed out about the procedure she had to perform. Her staff was very friendly and accommodating as well, especially her nursing and staff assistants. Because of my experiences at her facility, I would recommend anyone who needs an ENT to make an appointment with Dr. Kao. Thanks, Rochelle

Very thorough and professional. I haven't needed any surgery since I've been seeing her, but she has treated my chronic sinusitis and ear problems. Hasn't been quick to jump right to surgery, which I appreciate.

In 2000,I was referred to Dr. Kao who removed my uvula, adenoids and tonsils; no sleep study or much consultation. I returned to the ED 12 hours post-op with excessive bleeding from the incision point. Fast forward to 2017, I continue to struggle with swallowing and sleep apnea even though I do not fit the demographic. C-Pap therapy ineffective due to excessive scaring that is non-operative. My current ENT described my throat as butchery. Now way I would recommend.

I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and my primary care physician sent recommended Dr Kao for the surgery. Dr Kao was direct and to the point very professional and clear in explaining what was going to be done. Including all the positive and negative possibilities as far as the outcome. I trust her to the fullest. She asked me what I was there for too, but I felt it was to see if I understood my reason for being there. It has been almost 3 months since surgery and I feel great.

I had surgery by Dr. Kao 2 years ago and was pleased with the outcome. So I referred my husband following his VA recommendation he needs to be seen for possible surgery. Dr. Kao was absolutely rude, curt, and unprofessional the moment she stepped into our room . No hand shake or introduction of hersef to him, no smile. Her words were "Ok what are you doing here? Come on ,come on, tell me ....why are you here?" I'm sorry my husband saw her. Exam was short, she didn't want to help.

Dr. Kao did not take time to answer my questions, brushed my problems off as if they were not important, and told me "I do not know what you're talking about." She spoke in a very condescending tone when talking to me and did not help me solve my problem. I was overall not pleased with my visit, I am going to schedule an appointment at another office for another diagnosis.

I thought she was phenomenal. I had chronic sinus issue for years, her assessment was spot on and she didn't ask me to try all kinds of nasal sprays they were doing more harm than help. She perform a quick surgery for me and my life change dramatically for the better.

Diagnosed my problem quickly, but went on to accuse me of being an addict because I used half of a vicodin four times for my pain- far less than was even prescribed by my doctor. She quickly decided to drop me as a patient when I told her I felt that was offensive.
