When I met with Dr Gu, he quickly analyzed my issue and made a recommendation that made sense to me. We scheduled my next appointment for the prescribed treatment and now 3 weeks later I have 85-90% improvement and am headed to the outcome I was hoping for.

DR. GU DID BILATERAL INJECTIONS INTO BOTH OF MY SACROILIAL JOINTS TO IMPROVE MY HIP PAIN ON BOTH SIDES. IT HAS IMPROVED MY PAIN SO MUCH AND HAS MADE MY MOBILITY MUCH IMPROVED. IT HAS BEEN A MONTH SINCE THE INJECTIONS AND THE PAIN IS STILL MUCH BETTER THANKFULLY

Dr Gu reviewed all of my tests thoroughly and explained my condition and the reason I was having pain.He came up with a plan to alleviate it and after one injection there was a marked improvement in my symptoms. He was very knowledgeable and kind and I would definitely recommend him to others with back pain.

I had been to Dr. Gu several other times in the past and I thought he was terrific. My back pain has recently been getting steadily worse so I went for a follow up. On this recent visit he only met with me for about 5 minutes, no xray, no watching me walk, bend, etc. and basically just suggested I try physical therapy again. Expected a little more.

Not good did not listen and misled me

On my first visit to Dr. Gu, he took a look at me and didn't agree with my diagnosis of sciatica. He asked for an MRI. That is how he found the cyst that was sitting directly on a nerve between my vertebra. He recommended a steroid injection. Within a week, I was getting relief. A month later, I am still pain free. Dr. Gu is the best. He took the time to listen to my complaints and discuss my medical options. Dr. Gu is kind, compassionate and always has a smile on his face.

Have been in Dr Gu’s care in 2023 for back pain. He fully explains options and listens to my concerns. I’ve been very happy with results of his recommendation for a caudal injection which turned out to be most effective.

I had a horrible case of sciatica that went from the bottom of my foot, up my leg and across my back. I could only walk bent over with severe, agonizing pain. I went to one pain management doctor who gave me an epidural in the wrong spot, and it did nothing to relieve my pain at all. Dr. Gu knew exactly where to inject me, and after two epidurals, I feel fine. He is my miracle doctor. I owe my well-being to him. He is kind, empathetic and brilliant. I don't know where I would be today without his knowledge and expertise.

Many physicians are exceedingly competent in their chosen specialty. Dr. Gu is most certainly that. I have been dealing with degenerative disc disease and disc bulging at multiple lumbar levels for some time. There was a period where the sciatic pain down my left leg was excruciating. Dr. Gu has administered lumbar injections several times over the past 5 years with tremendous results. Each injection has provided me with anywhere from 12-18 months of relief and allowed me to engage in normal daily activities without pain. But beyond his clinical expertise and competence, Dr. Gu is a truly empathic and caring physician. He always greets me with a smile and a warm hello and takes a genuine interest in my care. I joke after each visit that I hope I never see him again. Given my condition, that is unlikely, but I am grateful to Dr. Gu for ensuring that those visits are few and far between and that, to this point, I have been able to avoid surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Gu!
