Has no business 'helping' with mental health
Did some work for her. She made it seem like every person who came to work for her treated her so bad and didn't come back. At 1st she seemed reasonable. Spent 6 and a half hours making sure her bill was right because again she made it seem like every bad thing happened to her and I felt bad. She asked me my professional opinion on location of products then proceeded to go with nothing I recommended. The house was getting worked on and electric in half was out. I had to come back the next day to finish and she insisted even though no power was where she wanted it that I mounted it anyways then got mad when it took longer. The next day I called her to let her know I might be a little behind getting there but it wouldn't be as much and I'd be out quick. She called my job and was making it seem like I wasn't coming. After I left another person went over because I was not going back after the episode she had. Read the notes and she didn't say anything about her picking spots and lied more

Does not follow the oath, “first do no harm”
When Dr Park called my name and while we were still standing in the hallway, she asked if a third-year medical student could do the intake. I said no. She did not accept my “no” for an answer, and we argued about it for a while in the hallway. I was very upset. Finally, I agreed. It was awful. Finally, Dr Park grabbed the list of questions away from the medical student started asking them herself. The only reason I went back to see her was to tell her how inappropriately she had handled our first encounter. When I went back, she asked if it was OK to bring in a different student. I said no; she insisted. When we all went in, I told her the only reason I had come back was to give her feedback which she had to listen to with an observer. The whole experience was appalling, hurtful, and unkind.

Dr. Yung Park helped me with my bipolar disorder when I moved to Connecticut. She carefully modified my medications to provide maximum benefit. She provided kind emotional support during my low or anxious times. But that is only the beginning of the marvelous help she gave me. My memory and focus had been fading for some time and the reasons were not clear. She helped me eliminate a particular medication that I had taken much of my life and much of my memory and focus has returned. Dr. Yung Park is outstanding!

Shouldn't be a doctor, didn't listen to me or try to get to know me, didn't give me basic med info. Didn't tell me about a potentially lethal side effect. I asked straight forward questions about med interactions and it was like I was speaking a different language. She recommended I take a med at night - I asked if its ok to take it in the AM bc its easier for me. Instead of explaining why it's better at night she said "you need to be an adult and just take it". I brought up that quote on our next appt and she said "I'm sorry you think I said that"I directly quoted her and she denied it. I asked her for more info on the meds she was recommending for me and she told me she doesn't like to give too much info because people with anxiety tend to look things up on google and get anxious. ? I'd prefer Drs advice over the web. I don't even have anxiety. She refused to give me a med that I've been on for years because I'm "too anxious". Normally I trust and respect doctors. Worst experience.

It is an understatement when I say that my life changed for the better like night and day after I started seeing Dr. Park. She is careful with medications and she doesn't always go to it when there are issues, which I appreciate because I don't like to feel drugged. Since seeing her, stress has been manageable, my mood has been better, and I am finally sleeping throughout the night and waking up refreshed.

I can't say enough great things about Dr Park as a psychiatrist who manages your meds. Totally respectful. On time, listens so very carefully to what you are saying and uses what she hears to better meet your needs. Never rushed. Works with diligence and great intelligence, with you, to find you the best care solutions. Accessible. Sensitive to the costs of things. Kind. Makes you feel heard. Explains things well. Approachable, not intimidating. As somebody with chronic conditions, I have been working with psychiatrists for medications for 10-20 years. I have never met a better psychiatrist or mental health specialist. I would and do recommend her to others without reservation.

Dr. Park is rude, cold and lacks empathy. She made me feel stupid at my last visit and explained to me that she can't read my mind. Isn't that your job? She basically prescribes you a pill and sends you on your way. Each visit it's like do you want to increase the dosage, do you want to try this? She doesnt even talk to you. She looks at you like you're an idiot and talks down to you. If you want someone to break your spirit even more visit Dr. Yung Park!

Dr Park is very arrogant. She was 25 minutes late for a 7:40 AM appointment and never apologized. A simple; “sorry, I’m running late” would have sufficed.

Zero warmth, was at least 20 minutes late to every appt, even first-of-the-day appts. When she was 40 minutes late for one I asked her about it — not even rudely — and she asked me if I “needed time to cool down.” Robotic and completely unempathetic. Unfortunately I was seeing her during the worst of my winter depression and she made me feel stupid and crazy. It’s like she’s reading a script from the 50s. The office manager/person who checks you in is also totally unfriendly.

Dr. Park is the most unfeeling and hostile woman I have ever met. If you are depressed, anxious, sad, need a therapist, or are looking for a compassionate doctor to understand, then cancel the appointment and seek out a rock and tell it all your problems.....at least you won't leave the appointment crying, feeling worse about your life, or waste your time.

I just want to say, Dr. Park is straightforward with her explanations that made sense to why I have been feeling this way for so long. She took the time to answer all my questions and she also explained to me the reasons behind her decisions. She also told me she is conservative with meds, not wanting to start on meds if I didn't need to, to avoid meds that can be addictive, and to eventually come off meds over time once things get better. I really appreciated this.

Terrible doctor. Every review that is below is true. Cold, arrogant, lacks empathy, horrible communication. Tried to use my therapist as an excuse for her decisions (which created mistrusts until I met with my therapist herself and said she was never involved in the process). How she still has patients or even is in the practice is beyond me. If she is recommended to you, do yourself a favor and request someone else. I went as far as filing a formal complaint against her.

Saw her for about 4.5 months during which she switched my meds every visit. The last time she said let's try this new medicine, it may help you. Went to pharmacy only to find it was the first med she tried with me. She was on the computer reading my records when she prescribed the old medicine!

My experience with Dr. Parks was very unpleasant. It is hard enough living with mental issues and I was extremely taken back by her lack of empathy. I had several visits with her, which each time she dismissed my concerns about my treatment. If you care about you care I would seek treatment with another provider.

I've not felt more judged in a medical office ever. She identified me from her memory as an opiate addict multiple times though I hsve never been one. She does not accept nutetion as a valid component to mental heskth treatment and is quick to suggest literally any med as long as you just stop talking to her. I told her I wanted to build a relationship, I don't think she even does that. She just writes scripts. She's literally of no use other than as a rubber stamp to recertify scripts.

I totally share in the negative comments on this survey. First she was 40 mins late. She then walks by me ...calls my name (like a dog) and proceeds to the office. Shockingly she does not introduce herself and there was no apology on the lateness. Then she proceeds to ask a series of prepped questions with no emotions - cold as ice. (Zero warmth) I was there for ADD evaluation After asking literally 10 questions she says I am sleep deprived and I got to go for a sleep apnea test. I walked out!

Dr. Park explained in detail in a thoughtful and understandable way why I have been feeling this way for most of my life. She took 20 minutes extra on top of my allotted time with her to go over the medications that were recommended for me and explained why and how it works. She answered my questions and I left the session less anxious and with greater insight about myself. She normalized and validated my feelings. Her bedside manner was terrific.
