Virginia Cancer Institute and its incredible team
Telehealth
Receiving a cancer diagnosis was incredibly isolating, but the kindness and empathy I experienced at Virginia Cancer Institute (VCI) made a real difference. In a healthcare world where genuine connection is rare, the VCI team created a hopeful, supportive atmosphere. Simple gestures—warm greetings, careful listening, and true concern—helped me feel valued and less alone. I learned that kindness in cancer care isn’t just comforting; it improves satisfaction, engagement, and outcomes. Dr. Choudhary and his incredible team of 'true professionals' gave me more than treatment—they gave me belonging and unwavering support. Thanks to the Virginia Cancer Institute Team, I faced my cancer treatment-journey with hope, gratitude and this opportunity to recognize all of them; and for my still being here today!CCH

Compassionate and down to earth
I am seen by another amazing VACI provider however, I had a major surgery and Dr.Yuvraj Choudhary saw me during my hospital stay for my rare blood disease attack. He listened to my concerns and swiftly ordered treatment through the amazing HCA pharmacy and was able to obtain my very rare medication. He followed up with me and was compassionate and genuinely cared how I was doing. I am so very thankful!

Arrogant, rude and missed my cancer diagnosis!
I saw Dr. Chaudry in August 2022 due to enlarged inguinal lymph nodes, the largest measuring 3.6cm. I had been having fevers, night sweats, fatigue and very itchy skin for months. I was concerned it could be Hodgkins Lymphoma due to family history as well as my symptoms. He ordered a needle biopsy. Results came back inconclusive (common with needle biopsies) but the comments stated “Hodgkin lymphoma cannot be excluded by flow cytometry.Correlation with morphology, clinical history and other diagnostic information is recommended”. Well, he told me nothing was wrong and when I questioned the comment on the report, he became very condescending and treated me like a hypochondriac. Insisted I was fine and walked out! Fast forward to Oct.2024 and I was just diagnosed with Nodular Sclerosis Hodgkins Lyphoma by a competent oncologist at VCU! He ordered an excisional biopsy of an enlarged supraclavicular lymph node and couldn’t believe Dr. Chaudry didn’t order additional testing 2 years ago!

Dr. Choudhary is an amazing oncologist! Each time I went in for treatment I was seen by Dr. Choudhary or his staff (Hilary). He always answered any questions I had and explained things thoroughly. Dr Choudhary is compassionate and cares about his patients. He totally made me feel so comfortable from day one of meeting him. Each time we met with him he listened to me and asked me questions. He then turned to my husband to ask about him and if he had any questions. On two occasions he personally made phone calls on my behalf. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful oncologist caring for me during a difficult time. I highly recommend Dr. Choudhary and if I could give him more than 5 stars I would. Vicki

Not for me.
I was so excited to see this doctor because of his reviews. I just knew he could help me. Unfortunately we will never know. I didn't feel welcomed while speaking to him and I definitely didn't think he was listening to me. One of the biggest things for me is a doctor who listens and works with me, not talking down to me and making me feel like I don't even know my own health issues. He made me feel like I was wasting his time, though I was referred to him. I think it was the eye rolls that gave it away. He may be a fantastic doctor but I didn't see what all these reviews described. That's unfortunate.

Thorough, caring, kind, thoughtful...WONDERFUL!!
Dr. Choudhary is an amazing human being. From the time he met my parents while my mother was in the hospital for a blood condition, to several visits later, he has given her utmost comfort and confidence in her care. He listens and explains in the most considerate and kind manner. Comforting elderly when they are ill goes such a long way to helping them recover or feel better, as the stress of poor health can take a bad toll. My family and I are incredibly grateful to have him provide care for my mother. THANK YOU, Dr. Choudhary.

Dr. Yuvraj Choudhary has been a godsend oncologist for my husband who was diagnosed with Stage4 cancer in March 2019. He and his team (Sierra, Meghan, and Anila), and the chemotherapist Emily at Virginia Cancer Institute went out of the way to not just treat him with utmost care, but made every visit a memorable one in terms of experience dealing with the most stressful situation in life. Dr. Choudhary took the time on every visit to look at the reports thoroughly, understand the concerns, and respond to every question from the patient and the family with total devotion, regardless of the workload he had on any day. Service of this kind is exemplary. Don't have words to thank Dr. Choudhary and his entire team in VCI. Best place to get treated for cancer. By the way, my husband is cancer free after 6 months of treatment under the able guidance of Dr. Choudhary at Virginia Cancer Institute. Heartfelt thanks to the entire team for giving him a new life!

What an amazing doctor! My mother inlaw is any doctor's worst nightmare. Her temperament, compliance, personality, years of hard living, advanced age, limited support system & previous medical issues would make most doctors refuse her on as a patient. Dr Choudhary was kind, persistent, firm when needed, brutally honest with her & he saved her life. Cancer is a disease that when 1 person is diagnosed the whole family is impacted. She has been 1 yr cancer free and lives independently. A Miracle
