Dr. Zane Darnell, MD

My wife went into her appointment, and was treated with disrespect and being scheduled for unnecessary medical procedures. He scheduled her for a Tilt test and a Angioplasty. My has been treated for years,by a Electrophysiologist and have SVT, where her heart rate races as high as 285 beats a minute and drops to the low of 5 beats a minute. This indicates Heart Failure. Instead of referring her to the correct physician, he wanted to put in her chart that she has Coronary Artery Disease. My wife needs a pacemaker in order for her to survive. I suggest that if you want to survive and live, please find a doctor that will spend time listening and suggesting ways to get better, instead of just a paycheck! Worst doctor that I Ever met! I wouldn't recommend him to work on my animals. Very Unprofessional!

I was referred to Dr. Darnell because my doctor went to another facility. I was born with congenital Electrical Problems with my heart where my heart rate drops extremely low and high causing me to pass out. Upon my appt. he did not listen to me, referred to my test as being 'normal' even though they weren't and referred me for an unnecessary angioplasty. This is never recommended for heart electrical problems. He would not listen to me, take me serious and was very nonchalant about my health. My MRI along with several other test showed no blockages or anything in that nature. I would not waste your time. He lacks all care and concern and should have his medical license revoked. The worst Dr. I ever seen. I was so upset when I left still with no help or treatment. He does not value quality of life and is rude. Please go elsewhere big you truly want help. He is a disgrace in the medical profession. At this point, I wouldn't let him treat my dog!

He is a very rude Dr does not answer your questions he spends less time with you acts like he is always in a hurry I will not be taking my husband back to him KDMC should really consider getting rid of him……

Spends less than 5 min with all patients. You can go by your watch! Has an attitude when you ask a question he answers with a question as to make you figure it out. He is very arrogant. Dry attitude! Makes you feel like you should already know what's wrong and why he is ordering what he is ordering. I've seen him 3 years now and I am in heart failure with 1 artery sending blood with 2 stents in it. Other 2 are dead. Left ventricle is dead. A bloodclot killed it. KDMC sent me to Cleveland Clinic in January of 2019. Surgeon said I had this problem since my stress test in 2014, although my reports were read as good and given to my family Dr. With no follow-up with a Cardiologist recommended!!!

Dr. Darnell did a heart cath on my husband and didn’t even talk to us afterwards. We found the results on myChart the next day which showed an EF of 15%. A month later at his Neuro appointment we learn that anyone with an EF of 40% or less isn’t suppose to be allowed to leave the hospital without a life vest (external defibrillator). We we to the Congestive Heart Failure clinic and they immediately got him into said vest. The following week during my husband’s follow up appointment with Darnell, my husband told him about the life vest and he got an attitude and he wouldn’t answer any of our questions or even make eye contact with either of us. He just looked at his computer monitor the entire time and said he was going to have to have a talk with CHF clinic because he wanted my husband on no restrictions as far as diet and activity but wouldn’t explain the reasoning.

First, I volunteered with Dr. Darnell in King’s Daughters Heart ?? and Vascular Center, meeting his Mother and ???? hearing what many patients and their families said about him which was all positive. This has been 8 or 9 years ago so when I had to choose a heart ?? doctor 2 years ago my choice was Dr. Zane Darnell?? I have been very happy with him and his staff. He goes above and beyond the call of duty to be the best?? Doctor he can be for you?? I am very happy with my choice. Highly recommend

After reading some of these reviews I was a little hesitant about the visit, but I was well pleased with Dr Darnell. He answered my questions, spent a fair amount of time with me and discussed my treatment options. I felt no pressure to do one thing over the other and feel satisfied with the level of care I recieved. I gave 4 stars only because I've not been with him long enough yet to give 5 stars. Hopefully, I can edit this review as time passes. Good, bad or indifferent.
