All Around Waste of Time and Energy
Telehealth
After yhree years with a therapist, she recommended that I seek ADHD testing and I attempted to go through HealthPartners because that was my insurance. I had a televisit with Aaron, where he asked a lot of the very typical intake questions. I did share that I had experienced violence (I'm a woman, most of us have), but no issues related to that violence such as distress, triggers, flashbacks, etc. He dismissed ADHD as an option because 'you were good in school.' I now understand this to be pretty typical bias that contributes to women and girls being undiagnosed, and this was very frustrating. In my file, he diagnosed me with 'trauma and stressor related disorder' (which is what the DSM 5 calls PTSD). I do not meet this diagnostic criteria in the SLIGHTEST. Getting through the hoops of getting to this appointment and the cost (over $200) was enough, without this poor clinical outcome. I found his approach really sloppy and frustrating.

I'd give zero stars if I could
His notes in my online file state there are goals, but there was no discussion of specific goals with me. Insisted that following his bad financial advice was 'healthy'. Each visit consisted of my giving updates since the last visit, which I did because we apparently had nothing else to discuss. I in no way wanted his suggestions on this info, but in his notes state that apparently all of this was what I was working on (?!?). In one session I had to detail why I wanted to take a certain direction with an incident, because he didn't understand why I would want to do that. The next session he spent time trying to convince me to do that same course of action I was already doing, as if our last week's conversation hadn't happened?!? Just a huge waste of time and money.
