Dr. Abbey Valvano, PHD

I have seen Dr. Valvano from 2016 until the present. She has pulled me through several very dark times in my life since then. She listens very attentively, is totally non-judgmental, and always gives me several options to consider. Even when she left the local area, she has continued to see me on a regular basis through telecommunication. Dr. Valvano never rushes the appointment and will make sure that we have another appointment set up before I leave. She also provides me with an email summary of what we talked about the next day, which is extremely helpful. I totally trust her judgement and the way she encourages self-reflection and consideration of different points of view. I have been to several different therapists, but none of them are of the caliber of Dr. Valvano. I feel that she truly cares about my well-being and will do her very best to see that I am making progress. She is patient, caring, pleasant, and also has a great sense of humor! Dr. Valvano is the BEST!!

I was told that my condition was my fault. Trivialized what I had to say. And pushed me to do something that caused hardcore damage. Then told me it was because happiness is a choice. Fake it until you make it? Worst of than when I started. After our sessions I've contemplated suicide on numerous occasions. Made me feel worthless as a human.
