Dr. Alice Tran, MD

Kept me waiting for half hour in a little room after her nurse did her part. When I commented on why I was left waiting she said 'why are you claustrophobic? Also, not a good listener.

I have completed several appointments with Dr. Tran. She is thorough and is responsive to inquiries. She has a caring attitude.

The first thing out of her mouth when she entered the room was 'I only have 5 min'. I arrived at the facility 15 min early, and had done all paperwork online. I did not even have time to discuss getting vaccines that her nurse said should be discussed with the doctor. I was quite shocked with her approach. I understand that doctors are hurried, but this was beyond the pale.

That was almost the first thing out of her mouth when she sat down in front of the computer. I was 15 minutes early for my appointment. I did not have time to address getting a flu or covid vaccine or any other basic issue. Going over my chart was essentially all she did.

My PCG was closed and the number left to call led me to Dr. Tran. Having had a fever of 101 to 105 for the past four days and just returning from the Yucatán Peninsula, I requested bloodwork. I had spent two hours the previous night at urgent care ruling out Covid and the flu.I practically had to beg Dr. Tran for the orders. I was questioned until I felt interrogated. Talking to her while my fever was 103.8, it did not feel comfortable or caring whatsoever.I let her know that the only lab open was urgent care South Bend Saint Charles. I believe I have denge fever. She said nothing can be done.When she finally did send my orders, she sent them to Summit, which had zero labs open. It happened to be the day after Thanksgiving.When I called to see if she could please fax to the number I would provide I was told that she was in her car and she was done working with me, I could go to the ER.I cannot do that half hour drive and then sit in ER for two hours so I’m choosing to wait.

Dr. Tran does not care about the lack of communication, unresponsiveness, and sub par care at Summit-BMC. I felt like just another number in the (very large) pile. She made excuses for the repeated incompetency of other staff and doctors she referred, and did not help work towards any resolution for my needs. Long wait times for appointments, lack of availability for appointments, and I felt an overall disinterested attitude for my concerns and needs.
