Alicia Ellison, RN

I went to NP Ellison for help with possible ADHD and cPTSD. She was unprofessional and refused to allow the process of diagnosis and treatment to occur naturally- including building trust, building a professional Provider-Patient relationship, time, and reevaluation of symptoms and needs. She most often perceived our interactions through the lens of bad faith, and stoically steel-manned against possibilities of nuance or being incorrect. It impacted diagnoses, treatment(s), and understanding symptoms. Ellison remained immovable and unbalanced in her views, and visits were increasingly like mashing and cutting puzzle pieces to fit- instead of using holistic practices to gain insight, aid diagnosis, and assist me in choosing the best options as an individual. I hope that new patients’ experiences are vastly different and improved from my own.

You would be lucky to get Dr. Ali to be your doctor. Absolutely incredible person through and through. I had to move away from Madison, and one of the things I miss most is having a psychiatrist that I know actually cares.

Alicia asked a lot of questions to get an idea of my history and took extensive notes for MyChart. She then let me know her assessment of my psychological health using language that was unnecessarily casual/familiar, such as “oh, honey” “daddy issues” “is that what you want?” (rhetorically), etc and had clearly made a moral valuation regarding my lifestyle, how I was processing and transitioning between life events, who I shouldn’t trust, how my life should look in the distant future, etc. She said I had poor judgement and limited insight which is feedback in total contrast to that I’ve received from many other clinicians. For these reasons, she was far more psychologically harmful and alienating than helpful, and in a lasting way.
