Not very helpful
She asks what your needs are and concerns but then won’t prescribe you for them, I ended up on an antipsychotic when I first was on an anxiety med. my only problem is crippling anxiety that affects my day to day. Like others have said it definitely seems like if you say a med you think might work she thinks your just a pill popper trying to get drugs.

Quite Rude
I'm not sure if she realizes that patients can view her notes, but she is quite rude in her descriptions of patients.

Patient
Positive: She asks the same set of questions every time, yielding a very good quantitative dataset she uses to make decisions. I've rarely had a medical provider of any kind do this, and it is a huge plus for me. Negative: With most providers I feel like I am a valued member of my treatment team, so to speak. Here, I feel like my she mistrusts my reports and experience without exploring what's going on. Often, she relies on her own authority without calling what I bring to the table. I wish she would vote me as a tested partner who has a lifetime of experience that can affect medical decisions. I don't feel like she connects emotionally; it seems kind of like this is just a job, although I know she went into the profession for a reason and must care a lot. When family and friends ask me for a recommendation, I don't tell them to avoid her, but I tell them to look for someone else first. Trust and rapport are so important in this field.

cruel person, terrible nurse practitioner.
She does not care about her patients. Every appointment ended in tears because she didn't listen and would treat me like a drug seeker for asking for help for my ADHD. In the pandemic I didn't have a therapist and came to her for help- I was struggling with drinking due to severely declining mental health. Instead of adjusting my meds to help me, she took away my medication saying she couldn't trust me to take it because I am officially a substance abuser. I was devastated and this pushed me off the edge. Her treatment is inhumane, cruel and cold. Very judgmental and doesn't listen when you tell her you don't like a medication or would like to try something else. I was on something I didn't want to be on for six months because she would not take me off of it. Awful experience and honestly has given me horrible anxiety surrounding psych visits.

She doesn’t listen to her patients. Every appointment my husband had with her ended in tears and frustration. For someone working in psychiatric medicine, she had absolutely no regard for my husband’s feelings and experiences. His therapist highly recommended treatment for ADHD and he BEGGED her for help, but Allyson refused to put him on anything besides antidepressants and anti-psychotics, insisting they ‘needed to treat the depression before anything else’. She pushes holistic and individualized approaches to her practice but she does not make any attempts to understand her patients brains.
