Amanda Sowisdral, PA-C

My PCP was out on leave. My wife and I were both seeking treatment for a URI. It was Amanda or nobody. We arrived at 10:45 for my 11:00 visit and my wife's 11:15. Amanda was already 30 minutes behind. She spent less than 10 minutes with me. When she got to my wife at 11:45, my wife was talking to her insurance agent on her cell verifying her coverage (which was good). The PA walked in, pulled her chair out then slammed it back under the desk exclaiming, 'I don't have time for this' and walked out and went to lunch. When we contacted SEMG about the incident, they sent a 'form letter of regret' for our bad experience. On January 9th, they sent us a registered letter of their intent to no longer treat my wife. Amanda's unprofessionalism & bad behavior is apparently all my wife's fault. We have been seeing our PCP for almost a decade. We adore him! Yet now, THIS is where we are. My view of the aforementioned PA is that, she is uncaring, unprofessional, emotional and basically toxic.

I have seen Amanda for a few visits over about a year. My last visit was disappointing. She was judgmental and condescending. I have been taking a medication that has really helped me and she refused to listen to how it helps and why. I have done my research and had results, yet she refused to have an open mind. I felt very uncomfortable to the point that I actually asked if I upset her. Of course, she said no, but the rest of the appointment was tense. I was there for a complete physical and she did not do a breast exam. When I asked, she said that can be done at my well woman checkup. It should have been part of my physical regardless. I wasn't going to beg her to touch my boobs, so I had no breast exam that day.

She made me wait for 1hour in the visiting room even though she did not have other patients to attend. Very unprofessional and I am definitely going to change my pcp.

Terrible. No bedside manner. Awful communication. Doesn’t care about patient

Amanda is a very caring and knowledgeable PA! She always comes up with a great treatment plan that best suits your needs. She always takes the time to follow up with her patients. If she doesn't know the answer to something she'll take the time to refer you to another physician and point you in the right direction.
