Positive first experience with Dr. Clow and her office! As a person of size (super fat), I have had my share of negative experiences with doctors and medical offices in the past. To challenge inherent weight stigma and fat phobia, I requested not to be weighed on my in-take forms. The nurse was very accommodating to my needs, and made no attempt to shame me or even ask me if I knew my weight so that she could document it. Dr. Clow was very personable and professional. She was knowledgeable and also displayed genuine empathy for me. So often large-bodied people are not seen as more than a problem at the doctor, and the only prescription we are given is “weight-loss” (a 95% ineffective pseudo-treatment that actually causes way more harm than good). I was looking for a provider who would respect me and provide the excellent care I deserve as a human being. I felt seen and cared for by Dr. Clow!
