I called Barbara Simon to make a consultation appointment and gave her my availability and was very specific about which days I was unavailable. She tricked me into thinking that she had availability and then during the appointment told me that she squeezed me in because someone cancelled and that she didn't have any availability when I was available. She took my money for the consultation and then told me I needed to find help elsewhere. Half the appointment was spent going over my schedule.

Barbara Simon refused to take me on as a patient, leaving me without a therapist just in time for the holiday season. Her Psychology Today page states that she treats people with my disorders, yet she expressed that she was not a good fit for me without really explaining why. I did not feel valued as a patient, let alone a person. It takes a lot of trust and courage to seek treatment, and to be completely brushed aside like that is not only frustrating but also highly unethical.
