Basil Maduka, NP

Dr. Maduka seems to be more interested in rushing through the appointment and assuming he knows the problem before you even get to finish speaking. He also seems to believe that older people are not susceptible to certain mental health issues such as ADHD and such. Lastly, he has no interest in any complaints about his staff and their lack of professionalism. Not the care I expected from someone who people come to for serious help.

Basil Maduka was a waste of my time and health. It was clear his priority was to get me in and out as fast as possible. He lacked tact or charm, and didn't make much of an attempt to make me feel understood. Instead, he approached me with suspicion, as if I was trying to score pills or something. He also said disproven things that made me question his knowledge, for example, that if you aren't diagnosed with ADHD as a child, you cannot have it as an adult, or better yet, that my ability to play and hyperfocus on guitar was a further disqualifier into even getting a fair testing for it. Research rejects both of his notions.

My appointments with Basil lasted all of 5 minutes. For my first in-person, when I showed up I was told it was rescheduled and no one bothered to tell me. I've never received any significant amount of help from this joke. His staff are, for the most part, exceptionally rude. I've been lied to, hung up on, talked over and treated like garbage. Most recently I've been in the middle of a three week ordeal in trying to get my medication refilled. The first time I called in to check what was taking so long, they lied to my face and told me I'd never called. I have this handy list on my phone that keeps track of those things, so I know they were, at best, grossly negligent. The second time I called in, after I'd been assured they'd place a """rush order""" in, I was told it had just been sitting on Basil's desk gathering dust. Then in the middle of telling them to cancel all future appointments with this failure of a doctor, I was hung up on.

Within 10 minutes of meeting me for the very first time, Mr. Maduka completely dismissed all of my concerns about my mental health. He wanted to push pills and started making phone calls without discussing who he was calling and why until he was already talking to the person on the other line. When I challenged his dismissal I was told, "I've been doing this for 15 years, I just know." I have never felt so invalidated by a mental health professional before and he had no care that he had upset me. I walked out of the appointment and immediately filed a complaint with the receptionist and their ethics website

bad. dismissive and not compassionate. don't waste your time, I'd have been better off not seeking treatment than seeing him.

This doctor didn't take time to get to know me or my problems. He hid. behind his computer screen.

Basil Maduka listened carefully to my problems and needs, and took them all into consideration. He even made a call with me in the office to schedule a meeting with a new counselor that he recommended. He was able to prescribe a medication that works very well for me, and has been excellent at following up. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking GOOD management of mental health issues.

Horrible. Not even his patient but since the woman I see normally is out he has made me absolutely miserable. He changed my prescription without regard to my well being, without even meeting me or speaking to me. After several attempts to reach him he still wouldn't take my health concerns into consideration. Absolutely terrifying and extremely inconsiderate.

I was new to Wisconsin and needed some mental help. I researched who took my insurance and the majority of the clinic's were 3 months out for an appointment. He is kind, caring and he actually listens. Which if you know anything about mental health professionals, they typically act as though they know how you feel inside. He's a 10

I would definitely recommend this provider. He really cares about your wellbeing and that's hard to come by in this field. I've had horrible experiences with psychiatrist, I was thinking of leaving the aurora network due to not being treated fairly by past psychiatrist but he has changed my point of view. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and followed up with my treatment. Thank you!!! Most providers didn't explain my medication but he took the time to explain each one.
